I have seen multiple threads quoting the living in the head rent free comment. It's one to be avoided.
So AJ has basically 2 chances 1. Go for broke 2. Run and try and steal a points decision ? The problem with the 1st plan is the unknown I.e. just how good is Ruiz’s chin plus taking it too him as with the first fight gives him openings too and with question marks around the chin pretty risky ? 2. Use your height keep it long and hope the gas tank ,which again has question marks around it , holds up ? I can’t wait to see but by the fact that he can do precious little to put muscles on his chin and it seems he is taking muscles off I would guess he is plumping for thee second option.
Hard one for rob to come up with. If it was me tho...i,d opt for the first option. Joshua shouldnt be running from anyone. Its like we,ve forgot how much of a specimen he is. Go in and jab with ruiz. Get him following you. When he does....attack first and push him back. Its really a combination of the two options thats needed. Ruiz success came when joshua was on the back foot trying to box...joshua couldnt deal with the second and third punches. When joshua goes on the offence this time he has to push him back imho. He wasnt committing to his attacks. Has to stand his ground and push him backwards.
While I'm confident Ruiz will stop AJ, you can't rule out AJ's power. That beautiful left hook put Ruiz on his arse and that can certainly happen again. If AJ lands another couple of bombs he can stop Ruiz. AJ's power is legit. Can't wait for this fight as I keep saying!
The bodybuilder could have went the other way with Ruiz. Instead of coming in trimmer, he could have bulked up to 255, like in the Takam fight. Wouldn't be outweighed so much ,and over powered by that gargantuan sized blob. Will say the though, that Joshua didn't employ the high guard as much as he usually does. Was caught a few times with his arm's, kept low.
As an AJ supporter, it concerns me how well Ruiz took the follow up right hand after he’d been dropped. That cross was flush and would’ve finished most heavyweights off
Maybe the Bodybuilder does not hit that hard ? He is not featherfisted but his power is vastly over rated. He threw everything including the kitchen sink at a shot WK and got a TKO........Heavybag Brewster while blocking every punch in the book with his face send a prime WK almost into a coma... AJ is a accumulation puncher, not a lights out puncher.........the Ghost of a shot to shid Mike Tyson finished Botha/Golata/Saverese with basically ONE shot
The bodybuilder going for the running strategy. Joshua will be on his bike, and literally run for 12 rounds. Knowing he can't stand and trade with Ruiz. Good strategy for him and his team, since there probably aware he can't fend off that ferocious blob toe to toe.
