Right now I feel boxing is the era of franchise champs, fixed fights, youtube personalities headlining real boxing cards, real top boxers headlining WWE events, and so on and so forth.... what period of ten years would you choose to go back in time and live through again or for the first time? Me personally I’d like to relive 1985-1995. Seeing a prime Tyson come onto the scene, watch Lennox Lewis learn his craft and see Roy Jones speed live.

Of course in my fantasy I can afford to go to the fights since there is no radio or tv. Can only see them by being there. 1892-1928. LaVigne. Fitz. Jeffries. Sharkey. Johnson. Ketchel. Attell. Wolgast. Nelson. Sudenberg. Leonard. White. Gans. Walcott. Langford. Ketchel. Papke. Rivers. Dempsey. Taylor. Greb. Houck. Willard. Wilson. Walker. Bashing, Crashing Kid. Villa. Driscoll. Tunney. Shade. Slattery. Papa Jack. Chaney. Loughran. Tiger. Siki. Berlenback. Delaney. Dillon. Firpo. Can't wait to go back to where I am from & meant to be.

Thx bro. Just got Dempsey book like 19 biowise. Available for first time in 100 years and compiled "A TALE OF TWO FISTS" Damon Runyon's history published in sections in the runup to July 4, 1919. Then his articles on the fight. It's great man. I suggest you buy it off Amazon or whatever Bob. Holding it in my avatar.

    1935-1945

Ezzard Charles, Willie Pep and Sugar Ray Robinson debuting in 1940!

Joe Louis, Archie Moore, Henry Amrstrong, Charley Burley, Barney Ross, Lloyd Marshall etc etc. In this period you will see arguably the greatest heavyweight, lightheavy, welterweight, lightweight, featherweight. You have 6 people who are consensus top 20 (SRR, Henry Armstrong, Ezzard Charles, Joe Louis, Willie Pep, Archie Moore) 3 who in recent times have become consensus top 5 (SRR, Armstrong, Charles).
IMO the skill level during this era was never higher and hasn't been since either.

    1937-50.
    I'd like to see the Robinson/LaMotta fights, Robinson/Gavilan, Robinson/Bell, Robinson/Costner
    Charles/Moore
    Zale/Graziano 1 and 2
Willie Pep's mastery ringside in his prime
    Joe Louis vs anyone
    Ike Williams/ Bob Montgomery
    Bueu Jack
    Holman William vs Charley Burley
Henry Armstrong come through like a tornado and beat everyone up

Unquestionably this is the time period I would like to witness. The mid 30s through to the end of the 40s featured the very greatest fighters in history imo - Armstrong, Louis, Robinson, Pep, Charles plus a whole host of other great welterweights, middleweights and light heavyweights. This is boxing nirvana!

    1960's.

I'd go directly from a love-in in my flares, tie-dye, with flowers in my hair to watch Ali, Frazier, Bob Foster, Dick Tiger, etc kick some arse.

PreTelevision the fight game was never better. The small fights clubs were humming right along. So many good fighters around.
