Donaire said Inoue’s power wasn’t like Nicholas Walters’ because he’s in a different division. “Walters was a lot bigger than me and we fought in the featherweight division,” he said. “You can’t compare the power of those two fighters. Inoue has good power but I could take it. I didn’t get tired. The body shot took a toll on me and that’s why I wasn’t as aggressive in the last three rounds. He is also open to a rematch....OMG!
I'd be interested in finding out what Inoue and Nonito's respective fight night weights were the other day, because judging from Nonito's previous fight night weights, there isn't anything in it even though Nonito did look the bigger man on the night. Obviously he's the taller and longer of the two but he also looked heavier as well and I'm just wondering if maybe he's one of those guys who has one of those deceptive bodies where they don't weigh as much as they look like they do. Inoue 131 - McDonnell 144 Donaire: 133 Walters 138 Nonito weighed the same at 126 for the Vic D rematch as Inoue did for McDonnell at 118 Donaire: 131 Darchinyan: 133 2lbs less at 122 against Arce than Inoue did at 118 against McDonnell Donaire: 129 Arce: 135 1lb more against Mathebula at 122 than Inoue did at 118 against McDonnell Donaire: 132 Mathebula: 136 5lbs less against Montiel at 118 than Inoue did against McDonnell at 118 Donaire: 126 Montiel: 134
Donaire doesn't really put on weight you know what i mean. He is one of those guys that will never get fat or heavy.. Eat what he wants and just stay slim everyday. I know a lot those rangy stick figuerd mofo that will never get fat ever in their life. No matter what they eat. I am not surprised he is lighter than the opponents in fight night weigh in.
He looked considerably bigger than Inoue but I suspect the weight difference between them wasn't anywhere as near as much as it looked if any at all. Judging from his previous fight night weights that is.
yup if Greb could fight the last third of his career with only one eye i dont see why Inoue cant. Special fighters do special things.
Weights are weird. Roidquez looked considerably bigger and thicker than Pac in 3 and 4, but Pac was apparently 2-3 pounds heavier. Roidquez had a much broader back, bodybuilder traps, wider chest, and bigger biceps and shoulders.
Yes they can be deceptive. That being said, you have to factor in Manny's Jupiter-sized mammoth melon which much make up at least 75% of his total body weight.
I was wondering that myself. At times they appeared like 2 different weight classes, as Nonito's torso was considerably bigger-framed. But I'm not sure if it was much, despite appearances.
They are also unofficial, so unless they are taking official fight night weights. Take them with a grain of salt.
People think its as easy as same height same weight so its a fair fight. Ive dealt with guys that were small who had more strength and power than guys bigger than me. My nephew is pretty small 5`7 150lbs yet he can bench nearly 250lbs and squat 450lbs while my other nephew is 6`0 190lbs and cant do either. Not even close. I bring this up because people go on and on about Loma being taller than Manny and how they should fight at 140lbs but fail to realize that Manny is a 5`6 powerhouse who would crush Loma like a bug because the strength difference is immense. Manny was walking through some of Kieth Thurmans shots and you think Loma who can barely crack an egg at 135 would have any effect on Manny ? lol yeah ok
Loma has pretty good power don't get it twisted. Manny just has freakish power for his size. He's speedy pinoy Duran in that respect.
It’s too risky for the reward at this point. He could easily pass on this and move on to other things and won’t get criticized for it.
