Not good for boxing but great for DAZN.. What does it say that you had 2 "World Championship" fights on the undercard but the side-show fight was the most entertaining.. Only way it would have been beneficial is if Haney & BJS were matched up with the right guys that would guaranteed them a great KO in front of millions of casuals.. I can guarantee DAZN gained more subscribers from this fight than any of AJ/Canelo and it cost them $500 mill less.. Im sure DAZN will continue to do these type of sideshows to up the subscriber count..

I watched it... to be honest, I had the same edge of the seat experience when I watched AJ vs. Klitschko, and Canelo vs GGG... I didn't know what was gonna happen. I thought Logan could have thrown more punches, especially the right hand.. he was a little gun shy...

KSI vs Paul could have been on its very own YouTube star/Celeb exclusive card (as it was the first time around) and made bank. These fights don't have to be mixed with genuine pro talent going forward. The undercards weren't the ones propping this fight up.

Then again, promoters could be thinking why set aside a Youtube exclusive event when a mixed card can bring in the casuals for the celebs and the hardcores for the real fights. Make it a massive blowout event.

It's best if it doesn't happen too often. It's really not good that genuine pro talent are having a potential spot on a card being taken by YouTubers.

It was predictable after the second knock down

The first few rounds were excitable, but after it was apparent that the fight was scripted to ensure both fighters finished on their feet, I lost interest very quickly and stopped watching.

I understand this is coming from your point of view but if every one involved in ''professional boxing and the fighters as a whole'' felt that this type of event would make them into sideshows or a joke they would not take part?

Also Billy Joe Saunders is a pro and as we can agree upon probably didn't care as he was getting lots of money/views, so if this event can benefit Billy Joe Saunders surely it can benefit (in some ways) other professional boxers? Also it's not like every single fighter is fighting for glory, some are in there just for the money.

I just said that.. BJS and Haney were matched up poorly and these fights did nothing for them.. You're suppose to match guys sort of like Canelo vs Angulo or like Julian WIlliams homecoming opponent.. The side-show fight was more exciting and the arena was louder for it than any fight i've seen this year except for Wilder KOing Brazeale... It wasn't good for boxing because i beleive DAZN is gonna put more of these fights due to its success.. Legit Boxing took a loss today

It will not even be a blip on the radar as far as adding new boxing fans. This type of garbage doesnt belong anywhere near a legitimate card of fights.

Been saying it all my fighting life

The small shows and white collar boxing are AMAZING

Even women theough about a million punches a fight

High level boxing becomes so skilful and tactical the casuals switch off

    Doubt it

    The card was boring AF

The fans will have left thinking boxing is boring, but the main event was great because they were emotionally invested in the fighters

No one on the card gave a wow performance which any of these kids will be thinking "i must follow this guy" "i must watch his next fight". Im pretty sure most will be indifferent

When champions (BJS) and talented prospects (Haney) fight on the undercards, that's how. The number of boxing events is limited because TV dates and the number of fights in specific top locations (like LA) are limited.

If this event is commercially successful, DAZN as well as all other promoters will follow suit very fast. They will find suitable persons (youtubers, other celebrities). They will also start putting real boxers vs. some other fighters (like MMA guys) in the ring. Step by step, this might transform boxing into some sort of WWE: pre fight TV drama shows on press-conferences, weigh-ins, etc, and maybe even staged fights in the end eventually (with some real boxing bouts on the undercards).

Also @Sephiroth Rising 7 you complain about boxing becoming more like WWE but boxing already has had some characteristics of the WWE for a long time now. For example boxing like to pander to casual fans/average people to increase interest by featuring fake drama in press conferences, fake trash talk, fake ''beefs'', excessive walkouts among other staged things (pushing and shoving at weigh-ins for example).

If these types of events are commercially successful then it benefits the promoters, fighters and other parties (DAZN, SKY etc). I agree that world champions should not take place on these type of cards but instead up and coming fighters and exciting prospects (guys like Ajagba earlier in his career).

You sound afraid of what could be the future of boxing, people like you are holding boxing back and stopping it from potentially advancing and exploring new avenues.

That sounds like a very negative attitude, please explain why in depth.
