Calzaghe had a hell of a lot of them (having watched every fight of his career). So that’s not true...great fighters win big fights and the crap fights against no marks get forgotten.

Fought Golovkin twice, put his unbeaten record on the line against Mayweather when he starved himself to make weight, has got in with a massive punching light heavy in the shape of Kovalev, but is scared of a non punching nobody who badly struggles with guys like Akavov and fights for world titles in leisure centres.

    Ladies and gentlemen: fanboyism defined.

Can’t disagree with that, I don’t think Canelo is scared of fighting BJS. It’s not that big a fight for him...BJS just got booed on his US debut...

Okay, so who are the crap performances that Calzaghe had?

We are obviously talking post-Eubank and pre-Lacy here. You say he had ‘a hell of a lot’ of bad fights. He didn’t. He fought a lot of average opposition don’t get me wrong, in fights that don’t drive many to watch them again. But largely they were forgotten not because Joe didn’t turn up, but because Warren delivered another mismatch whilst talking about Hopkins/Johnson/Jones.

Go on, name names. I’ll even give you one to start. Kabery Salem. This is peak Warren cheap matchmaking and Joe understandably is getting frustrated. Perfect example of taking his opponent lightly and not turning up. Poor fight, poor opponent, poor performance.

Off the top of my head...
    Bika
    Salem
    Reid
    Jimenez
Ashira (won clearly but it was dull)

Byron Mitchell he was almost knocked out himself, hardly a vintage performance even if it was a stoppage.

You’ve admitted a fighter can have an off night because of a poor opponent then...

Well, in fairness I already gave you Salem. He broke his hand against Ashira and won every round. What did you want him to do? Bike was a scrappy opponent who fouled Joe all night. Joe clearly won without question. He won every round against Jiminez.

He manifestly does not have ‘a great deal’ of bad performances on his CV. This is a long, long way from Saunders squeaking razor thin decisions over the likes of Akavov and Ryder, or getting outboxed by Coceres. If Joe was nicking MD’s against the likes of Jiminez and Ashira you’d have a point. But you don’t.

    No longer feeding the troll...

You already contradicted yourself by admitting Calzaghe wasn’t up for an underwhelming opponent in Salem...but that can’t be the case for BJS.

I’m a much bigger Calzaghe fan than I am BJS. You just ignore reason and spout the same crap, even straight up making things up.

Not a troll, just correcting you on the ludicrous suggestion that Calzaghe beating opponents 120-107 across the cards is in any way comparable to Saunders scraping narrow wins against Akavov and co.

Joe took on a litany of mismatched opponents and more often than not battered them without losing a round. Saunders does the same and barely wins. Chalk and cheese mate; you’ve clearly been on the gypsy Kool-Aid.

The boyfriend of Tony Hayers must be impotent by now after years pumping a relentless bore - must be difficult for his black & decker to have any feeling left in it.

Are you thick or something? You literally asked me if I’ve seen him fight and I answered.

As I said, every fighter will have a bad fight from time to time. Saunders does this all the time. When was the last guy Saunders was meant to beat with ease who he really did beat with ease? He was 100/1 on to win last night and nicked it late. You tried comparing this with Calzaghe and the best you can come up with is Joe winning 120-108 on every card with a broken hand.
