Could Langford at his best beat the great Ezzard Charles at Heavyweight? Langford who stopped Harry wills in 14 versus Charles who whipped Joe Louis? 15 rounds, 1950 s rule sets.
Langford was a once in a lifetime fighter. I believe as good as Snooks was, Langford was that much better. Langford by KO. Before rd 15. Johnson. Langford. McVey. Jeannete. 20 rd or more fighters have a distinct advantage. NOBODY was a better boxer than Johnson. And after him, Langford, to use Roughdiamond's fav term, "is a beast".
The one who fights under his own rule set wins. Both look supremely skillful to me. (For some reason I can’t delete that annoying numeral one at the beginning this comment. God I ****ing hate smart phones; they consolidate literally everything I detest the most about modern society into one little slab the size of a chocolate bar.)
I suspect that they would end up splitting a series. Charles could outpoint Langford, but Langford would stop Charles at some point.

Can you imagine Langford vs Marciano? Just like with Langford vs Dempsey, Marciano would force Sam into a slugfest IMMEDIATELY! Be like Hagler/Hearns rd 1 X 10!.
I'm going to go with Charles assuming both men at their best but some rough moments for both men- 175-185 lb both men could be hurt dropped and stopped Charles UD 15
If Charles chose to box him he could possible outpoint him because Sam was more vulnerable to being outboxed by large men than, super heavyweights aside, out punched .. however, Ez liked to trade and got hit more than he should have and that is why I'd favor Sam .. still, talk about an all time insane fight of P4P greats , wow.
