It is embarrassing. It's embarrassing how people talk up Billy like he's ****ing May weather and doesn't get hit. He gets tagged by everybody mate. He's got nothing for canelo except running away and clinching for dear life. I've got nothing against Billy BTW. He's quality when he's on the ball, but he's got **** all for canelo except run and lunge in and clinch. Which is exactly what he will try to do and claim a masterclass.
Nobody has spoken of Billy like he's Floyd. Billy would never run away and clinch for dear life. What on earth is that based on? Let's hope the fight happens.
It's ridiculous mate, Billy is not even a clincher, a lot of posters here are re-writing history and clearly don't know a lot about how Bill boxes if they think he's a clincher. In fact I believe he needs to clinch more! He loves going to the ropes utilising his upper body movement and baiting his opponent. On another note I'm going to bow out of this thread now. Read through the thread and a lot of the detractors here make constant references to Saunder's background. One poster said anyone who disagrees with the OP is a "pikey". @TonyHayers who is the worst poster on this forum refers to Saunders supporters as being on the "gypsy kool-aid". It's a crass thread full of slurs about Saunders' heritage and I bet all of the people throwing these slurs about don't even box and would **** themselves in the presence of travellers. It's a shame that if the fight actually gets booked for next year we'll see tons of threads like these.
I think a Danny Jacobs fight would tell us all we need to know about BJS. He's moving to 168, I'd like to see BJS vs Jacobs.
He's a nasty piece of work and it's nothing to do with heritage.I hope the fight gets made with the shermanator bcoz he's screwed regardless. That will be the end of billy"the hypothetical superstar"Saunders.
I remember Saunders complaining that his performance against Lemieux had actually had a negative effect on his ability to get the big fights, saying that nobody wanted to go near him. Separately, he also made a reference (meant as a positive) directly to Kell Brook on a IFL video after his poor performance in the victory against Zerafa saying that he’s more likely to get a big fight after that performance... The thing is, if the fight is at 168, Canelo will make BJS sign a 160lbs rehydration clause. I reckon Canelo beats him 8-4, with Canelo really turning on the heat in the last few rounds and giving BJS a pasting.
It's based on my opinion of what will happen when he faces canelo. He's going to run away and try to potshot then clinch a la galahad. If he somehow makes the final bell he will claim a masterclass. Nailed on.
Agree with this. It'll be a payday and an attempt to survive to garner some respect. Canelo has done a collective 33 rounds with Golovkin and Kovalev. Saunders has stopped three proper opponents (i.e. not those fights at crusierweight when he couldn't be bothered getting in shape) in eight years. He has no power that will bother Canelo. And a guy who takes that many shots from Eubank/Akavov will ship more than a few from Canelo.
What else can he do? He's got this mythical aura where he never gets hit, despite getting nailed on the chin by everybody except lemieux. Some people just wont listen. I really hope this fight gets made.
It's the same with Fury. No power, eight punches a round, desperately try to avoid getting hit, (worked against Klitschko, didn't work against Wilder), don't even attempt a stoppage, (Klitschko five career losses, all stoppages bar one and that was Fury.) Fury could have easily lost that and he'd have claimed he boxed a masterclass. Hattonmad would have believed him, (try not to laugh, but he believes Fury's charity claims.) Same here. Whoever mentioned Hughie was spot on to do so. These type of low action no power fighters are always hyped to death until they eventually get beat and stink the place out. Saunders and Fury regularly produce stinkers but they're still given the 'unhittable' treatment by fanboys.
