I might have a look at this tonight. I was reading this morning that there was a series on Monzon in Argentina. Glad it’s on Netflix.
I wish people would research Monzon more. From the people who were around him from the beginning and the Argentinean boxing writers.. There was so much hard core boxing at Luna Park, etc. I know most of it is in Spanish but that's what google translate is for… but there is a lot of info. and documentaries about Brusa and Monzon … Their story is sort of one of a kind how Monzon grew up and what Brusa made him do and went through to consider taking him on when monzon was a mal nutritioned half dead kid
Haha. No amigo. You and some others here are the reason I came back … Took a break. Was living in Colombia 6 months out of the last year. Just had to see and know where Cervantes grew up and experience it in Cartagena and the outskirts. So many great stories and photos of him…. Man what an awesome experience !!
Can you point me in the direction of some good documentaries that possibly have English subtitles? I just watched episode one of this Netflix show and I enjoyed it. I’ll probably watch a few more this week.
I watched the first 2 episodes. It's well done Very interesting. Seems to capture Monzon pretty well.
THAT is awesome. Pambele was truly an alltime great. I love Pryor but prime Pambele ko s him I think. Benitez took him by surprise and would never rematch him. He is the 1 guy, him not Arguello, I think in his prime in 74 , 75 or so would have maybe beaten Roberto Duran. I know: blasphemy! But I think. Is Valdez from there also?
Glad your back @surfinghb 1 always enjoy your quality posts. Ok can someone please give the Monzon doc. name already. I'm definitely one of his most vocal supporters here and would like to watch this.
