Does anyone here think Devin Haney would beat Loma?

Devin Haney is only 20 years old compared to a prime 31 year old Loma. Let Haney get his man strength first.

It is a fight I would like to see, I just hope Haney does not outgrow 135 too soon.

I love when young guys walk into the ring with a strap, World Champ, but are too inexperienced to face another belt holder. Reminds me of Tank Davis at 130. Nothing but excuses from his team and fans. Somehow avoided top challengers and other belt holders at 130 so he took his clown show to 135 to fight the ghost of Gamboa.

I get it, Haney is young but if you are the champ, you should be expected to fight other guys at your weight. Otherwise, why accept the belt and call yourself champ? Champ of what, inexperienced guys?

Haney struggled against Santiago. Loma would destroy Haney easily

reminds me of when Wilder won his belt. Shelly said that despite holding a belt, still needed time to develop. Once you hold a belt, it should be top contenders or other belt holders. Do that, THEN you get the occasional/allowable tune up/gimme/showcase fight.

Yeah spot this.To be sure I don’t think he’s ready for Lomo(none of em are ever ready for him lol) but part of me wants to see it happen just to put this talk to rest.
America are so desperate for champion they’ve given Haney Lomos belt and he’s gonna be talked of as the next guy to dethrone Lomo like Gary Russel ect.
Thing is I do like Haney and I’d hate him to end up on the same pile as the other Lomochenko opponents who had the same label.

The problem is too many guys are totally consumed with protecting the 0. We can thank Floyd and his minions for that partially. Lots of guys walking around with 0 losses pretending they are the next Floyd. This is something you don’t see in the UFC. Guys can lose and come back to be stars.

It’s the reason Tank Davis has not fought Loma or a legit opponent in three years, why Crawford and Spence haven’t fought and why Wilder has faced an army of bums in his career, guys just protecting the zero.

Respect to Loma, a guy who has never tried to do this. He lost in his second pro fight against a cheating, overweight Salido and immediately went after GRJ, a very talented guy with a strap and more pro experience. He didn’t crush a few cans to puff up his record coming off a loss. Wish more young guys would take note and do the same.

I have more respect for guys who fight tough opposition and lose once in a while, than guys fighting bums, no hopers and cherry picked opponents. Losing and overcoming a loss is part of life and takes more guts than cherry picking to pad a record. It makes me sick when fans of cherry picker fighters defend their guy by touting their undefeated record. Who cares if none of the bums you’ve carefully selected and defeated blemished your record, they are still bums.

Agreed, well said. Posters have gotten to the point where they too seem to care too much about a '0'. Sometimes I don't understand the logic so many use here.

Once upon a time, a catchweight fight for a title was frowned upon. Now many defend the CW title fights.

I think Haney has a pretty high ceiling. If he fights and loses badly to Loma, I would just hope he can come back from a beating while being so young. It's not unheard of that it ruins a young talented fighter.

Lol! Nice try. You actually mean let Loma age some more and leave his prime before Haney steps up.

    Loma > Haney

Fools never learn. Keep Haney away from Loma if you don't want to break his spirit is my advice to them dummies, sacrificing another fighter is all it is in the hope of a miracle !

Haney is nothing special. He looked very ordinary in his last fight. He is not ready for Loma and doesn’t have a chance.

They don't want to fight again after getting loma'd, its like everything they've been taught is a lie when they get in with him, nothing works. Something that ive been calling for since Loma turned pro is a helpline afterwards for his opponents, the built up ones, the Rigo's, the Walters, there needs to be some care plan set up for them, they got no one to talk to after, no honest advice on handling the situation, they just go missing thinking all will be forgotten

This. Haney is way too green. He needs another couple of years before I could see him being a threat. Haney’s defense and pacing still need a ton of work. Don’t see any reason to throw him in with Loma at the moment.
