You don't think Tyson, Holmes, Louis or Foreman beat a prime Smokin Joe?

So you know how every early career Foreman KO finished? There's 18 or so early career. I've never counted but how many do you credit both of them? I can think of a few for Tyson straight away but would have to dig deeper.

I've talked with a few statistic keepers in the past. These guys are insane! They all said the same thing about Foreman clubbing men into submission, similar to his comeback. I'll try to get the inside scoop as soon as I can. But Tyson trumps him by a good margin.

Maybe Louis but I'm not as confident as I once was. Tyson and Foreman could get him early but I see Smoke surviving and taking them out later. Holmes was a poor man's Ali and inferior in many categories, especially those which would be beneficial in facing a swarmer.

I'd still be keen to know Tyson's number.

George was just turning pro after winning an Olympic gold medal....you know the sporting event held every 4 years that Tyson wasn't good enough to qualify for.

And Tyson was fighting filler pretty exclusively at that age himself until he met Berbick who wasn't much to write home about anyway.

Still finished on his feet and had his hand held up at the end.

    Compared to this guy

My favourite quote- " Kevin McBride a journeyman is making Mike Tyson look like a 3rd tier heavyweight" LOL

Why be unpleasant? He was respectfully sharing an opinion.do not denigrate him.
And he is correct. You could not contest anything specific he stated.
You reverted to talking about KO records.
When he just showed how many thing *besides* absolute power go into KOs. There are other factors.
Forget for the moment massive exaggeration was not china chinned, & he avoided most of Foreman's hevy artilleray by staying away...

Tyson was not diminished as much as the much older Foreman.

Anyway, you are skipping all inconvenient arguments.
The consensus of experts, those that actually fought them, & observation is that Foreman hit harder.
Why must that threaten your Ego?
No need to overidentify with Iron Mike.

If we asked him, I will bet anything he would admit this.

I'm just not in a pleasant mood. I think Foreman and Tyson have similar power levels. Foreman probably stronger with Tyson being more dynamic. Although who nows, right? Even fighters are biased. And of course Tyson would admit Foreman hit harder. He's very humble to the viewer these days.

My favorite quote, "Ok Jim! Why the **** is George Foreman imitating a gargoyle against a guy that Mike Tyson finished in 2 minutes? Thank the gods in heaven he never faced Mike Tyson or Mike would be going to prison for raping Big George, and not that jezebelle Desiree Washington. The gig is up, time to retire Gargoyle Foreman!"

What like Steve Zouski (who George stopped as quick as Mike after a 10 year lay off without really trying to hurt him ) and Lorenzo Boyd (who retired with about 50 losses)?

I'd love to see what these hacks beat to achieve a winning record.

Mike Tyson L RTD 6 Kevin McBride can not be check mated. 70 years old George Foreman today could beat that Kevin McBride.

I would say both fighters were protected and hand picked a lot of opponents throughout their careers (especially in their second careers it’s ok a good manager will steer clear of bad style matchups when possible). Also to be fair three of Foreman’s losses came over the age of 40. All in all pretty equal careers or extremely close. Both amazing fighters. I always felt Tyson’s power was more the sneaky kind like the shot u didn’t see kind of power as opposed to Foreman’s thudding raw power.

My friend, I have an admission to make: I am totally biased toward George, Joe, Larry, Ali, Norton, and Holmes. So a lot of what I write is just me being an unashamed fanboy of those fighters and probably to be taken with a boulder of salt.

I completely respect and often admire the points you make, and because of you and a few others I've grown hugely in my appreciation for Mike Tyson.

I'm just a 70s fight fan all the way, so any opinions I have are going to sound sycophantic. Please forgive me for any errors I make about fighters past or before that error.

You are an interesting member here, and I always make sure to read your posts.
