You said Maxim lost over a third of his fights. He had 116 fights and lost 29 ,he would have had to lose 34 plus for that to be the case.He actually lost 29 of them so you are wrong yet again! And as I showed ,he lost 8 of them when he was past 35years old. The reason I don't put you on ignore is because I am fascinated to see if you will actually get something right one day! Your attempts to get me banned and your resurrection of a disgusting sexual slur showed what a piece of work you are and left you with a flea in your ear and nothing else between it and the ear on the other side !lol Pathetic Clown!
Kovalev had more ability than Saad. But you'd be hard pressed to convince me that Saad doesn't drown Kovalev late. He had intangibles that Kov never possessed, and I don't have confidence in ANY version of Kovalev handling Saad's power. Oh BTW, Kovalev never got dominated like Saad did against Qawi cause he never fought anyone as good as Qawi. Make no mistake, Qawi was better than Ward, and FAARRRR better than Canelo.
With that light heavyweight era, I view Spinks and Qawi as really having been special; Spinks arguably was the best h2h 175 ever. A lot of the others though, like Saad, Conteh and Marvin Johnson, are celebrated more for having fought in a great era than for having posted the results. Kovalev would make lots of noise back then even if Spinks would brutally knock him out.
Let’s go with this: 1. Kovalev gasses out and gets stopped late by Saad while you on the cards (15 round fight). 2. In the rematch, Kovalev boxes as carefully as possible and wins a decision in a much more boring fight (over 12).
So the upperweight classes are at their peak until they are about 40 years old? Oh right!LOL Why I wonder do so many of them retire in their early to mid 30's? For example; Berlenbach 32 Delaney 32 Loughran 35 Slattery 30 Rosenbloom 32 Olin 31 Lewis 25 Lesnevich 34 Mills 31 Conn 31 Pastrano 30 Torres 33 Conteh 29 Rossman 28 Parlov 32 Spinks 32 ps 25% is not equal to," more than 30%,"just thought I'd point that out to you.
Doesn't matter if Kovalev boxes. Saad isn't Eledier Alavez. Unless Kovalev could channel of the reflexes of a prime Jones, or the chin of James Toney, he'd get caught and KO'd. Saad was one of the top 5 punchers in light heavyweight history, and Kov's question was always questionable.
All fighters have weaknesses. Kovalev has faded down the stretch and that'd be a problem against someone like Saad. Saad was clutch af. But, I'm also not confident in any version of Saad handling Kovalev's power. Sutherland was a super MW and he was able to hurt Saad. Vonzell Johnson wasn't a puncher and he hurt Saad. Yaqui had Saad out on his feet. Qawi hurt him numerous times in their first fight. Richie Kates almost slept Saad, that fight could've been stopped the way Saad was staggering. Kates wasn't a puncher either. Saad didn't have good defence and he was too hittable. Saad can drown Kovalev late but that's if he makes it late. Kovalev wasn't a slow starter, Saad was. Kovalev is clearly the superior boxer, he'll outbox Saad and he'll be landing the right hand from the beginning. As tough as Saad was, he can still be hurt and he can be stopped. If Saad makes it to the second half of the fight, he can turn it around and possibly stop Kovalev. But it also depends on the momentum. You can't take a beating in the first half and then turn it around in the second half against someone like Kovalev. Kovalev didn't automatically fold in the second half, you still had to take away his momentum by making adjustments. Ward and Canelo did that. Alvarez and Hopkins didn't. Saad also cut easily. Agree to disagree. Qawi was never as good as Canelo or Ward imo. I don't know how you can say he was "FAARRRR" better than Canelo. Canelo is definitely a more complete fighter and he's better than Qawi at almost everything. What did Qawi do better than Canelo and Ward?
Qawi was a better 175 than Canelo. Not so sure about Ward. Pfp, Canelo can claim to be better than Qawi.
No, Canelo can not claim to be better than Qawi, not P4P or otherwise. You sound like a teeny bopper.
What does Qawi do better than Canelo???? Really??? No. Some things on Classic don't dignify a response. You and No Neck are ****ing boxing simpletons who belong on the General Forum. Around here, we know better than to say something as idiotic as "Canelo is better than Qawi at everything." Literally the only thing Canelo does better than Qawi is get disputed decisions. In that area, Qawi can't touch him.
1. Says who? DAZN? Loma and Crawford are clearly superior fighters to Canelo. A win over a shot Kovalev doesn't change that. 2. Qawi fought in an era that was just a tadddddd bit deeper than this pathetic era. I can assure you, Canelo would not be near the top P4P back when Leonard was in his prime, Sanchez was in his prime, Pryor was in his prime, Hagler ruled 160 and Spinks ruled 175. If you can't grasp that, then you're even duller than I thought.
Rossman, Scott, Davis, Krous were all good wins for Qawi along with the Saad beatings. You can throw in his absolute war with arguably the greatest cruiserweight of all time in Holyfield and you have a very solid resume.
