I don't see many people talking about him around here...

Strikes me as a true fighter. He's just genuinely mean AF when it comes to fighting.

He could be a star, as he does have the tools to go all the way.

How does he fare against Smith & BJS?

He's as strong as a bull, but very flawed. Smith and BJS both beat him. Well the BJS showed up in his last fight would get ass kicked but I doubt he'll look that bad.

    I like him.

He’s got some great fights ahead at 168 and possibly 175 in the future.

I think he’s number 2 in the division behind Smith although I think he’s a very live dog in that fight if it was to come off.

    Right now he beats Saunders.

Of the few fights I've seen, I think he is a fighter. Only 2 defenses during a pretty good rank of P4Pers in Loma, Crafword, Spence who command the spotlight.

Fury has commanded a huge part of that spotlight because he's got a big mouth -feel good comeback story. Ruiz has taken the spotlight from AJ, Inoue has just burst open an avenue for himself in this last fight.
Alvarez taking on bigger foes, caught up in scandals also prevents David from getting a piece of the boxing limelight.
Pac stripping a piece of that light in beating Thurman, Usyk drubbing the entire CW division daring to crash the HW means Benavidez either has to do something like getting arrested to make his name known or...

Bide his time. Knocking out Anthony was a good start, but he will get his chance in a pretty stacked division of Callum Smith, Calbe Plant, Ramirez, Saunders. Beating any of these guys will put him on the map.

Best SMW in the world IMO. Smith and BJS 2.0 are both quality too but I feel the later is a natural MW whereas Benavidez is a huge SMW. Granted Smith can more than match him for size, hits hard and is very talented, but I'd still lean towards Benavidez to emerge victorious in that one albeit not by as much I used to.

Caleb ''Sweet Hands'' Plant better stay in his lane because Benavidez's favourite dish is fighters who train down at the Mayweather Gym: Ron Gavril, Denis Douglin, J'Leon Love. Mark my words, Plant will be on the receiving end of an ass paddling for the ages if he keeps running his mouth and is stupid enough to sign on the dotted line.

Like him a lot. Not without fault but still young with time to improve. He's going to be in some fun fights for sure

El Zurdo has moved up to 175 so I doubt he'll get that fight for a good while.

Oh agreed, 100%. I don't rate Plant at all.

Not just that, but David has that mean streak in him, y'know?

That streak where, when he is dishing out a beating, you won't see him motion to the ref to stop it... because he is enjoying it.

Benavidez/DeGale (from say 2011-13) would have been a great fight.

Prime DeGale vs Benavidez would've been interesting for sure

He's a future beast assuming he keeps his nose clean (pun intended). Still young and has a couple things to work on though. I think he already beats everyone at SMW except Callum.
