Whoever lands first.

 

Haven't really seen either of their chins tested (although Tufte did get in some bombs tonight, albeit on the backfoot and not with full leverage) so it would be a hard one to pick.

 

Uaine Fa, Jr. vs. Devin Vargas, 10 rounds @ heavyweight

 

Devin Vargas looks like a jacked up (but then deflated, as though he cycled on steroids last year but then spent months neglecting the gym, because the dude has boobs) version of every single meth dealing cracker I see hanging around the subway stations.

 

Let's see if Fa can put out some good form to wash away the memory of that Guinn performance..

 

Vargas was captain of the U.S. Olympic team at one point, that's just depressing.

 

Round 1

Vargas is sloping his left shoulder down and bending his lead knee in toward Fa while leaning his upper body away, changing levels, dipping to either side to slip Fa's jab. Fa switches up and smacks him with a left hook and Vargas nods appreciatively. Vargas stretching out long jabs on the midsection while leaned over. Vargas loops in a right hand on the body diving in, and Fa puts him in a headlock, with his arm twisted for good measure in an extra submission move. Rabbit punch at the bell on the break.

Eek. That ring card girl is a hard 5.5, barely even a butter-face.. maybe a beer-goggles 7 at best.

 

Round 2

Vargas is caught with an overhand right. Vargas complains it was behind the head, but Fa continues to punch down on him as the ref offers no assistance. Fa blunders in and takes an uppercut and body shot before Vargas ties him up. Fa backs up as Vargas drives in with sloppy anti-aircraft rights and kneading body combos up close. Fa separates with a big right uppercut and splashy left hook combo, knocking Vargas back momentarily. They now trade power shots, both missing, and step out to mid-range where they both land a couple of soft jabs. Vargas falls in with a wild glancing hook and clings onto Fa.

Round 3

Vargas is having a strong first minute, backing Fa up with rights and lefts roped up from each hip as he stomps forward and then lets his top half dangle while sagging in the middle. Fa has enough and rocks him back with an uppercut. Vargas buzzed, and Fa puts his proverbial boot down on Vargas' throat. Fa bombing away, Vargas absorbing everything in a corner. Vargas egging himself on, almost down a couple of times but congratulating himself and waving Fa on for more.
