Bruno-Tyson was priced at £9.95 in 1996, which would be the equivalent of £18.35 in 2018 prices. Putting that in perspective, there have been increases above the price of inflation, but not excessively so. There have been plenty of goods and services that have increased by more than that. If you work on the basis that Bruno-Tyson was conservatively priced to test the waters, it isn't that dramatic an increase over nearly a quarter of a century. The wider issue to me is that the increase in price above inflation, has corresponded with a significant drop in the quality of the product. Early PPVs were stacked, with multiple world title fights from Warren's extensive stable, exposure for exciting prospects, and a genuine buzz from early on in the card. The typical PPV in the present era is poor in comparison; the undercards are poor, and the criteria for what is PPV worthy has loosened considerably. The other point with this specific fight is that as others have pointed out, the hike directly follows the poster boy getting smashed in his last fight. It's generally not the best time to increase your prices when your product is tarnished, and there may be a backlash with this.
Potentially. But the reality is that it’s not such an increase as to put that many off. Come the day of the fight very few who would have paid twenty will not pay twenty five.
Although i think your right i sincerely hope your wrong I wont pay so its not a huge issue for me (big up my IPTV guy) But morally its crap So lets say it makes an extra 5 mill due to the extra blue boy Who needed that? Sky? Hearn? AJ? I think they are doing well so dont see the need for the increase at this time Stinks of a cash out I hoping Ruiz embarrasses the lot of them now
Eddie knows it's over, AJ is done, Whye, Khan and Kell are all finished too, this price hike and putting the fight on in Saudi are all a last desperate cashout from the fast one. Same here, hadn't ordered a PPV since May-Pac but was gonna buy this (a fight finally worth paying for) and then this happens, cheers Eddie.
With the best will in the world, why will I be wrong? Joshua’s immensely popular. Prices went from ten to fifteen - more than a million bought a David Haye PPV. Prices went to twenty - even more bought the Joshua Klitschko fight. I can’t see why this becomes the moment that breaks the cycle. I don’t think it’ll do Joshua Klitschko numbers but it’ll sell a million easy.
I said i actually think your right I just hope it flops now Im fully aware the chance of that happening are slim
Responses stating that we’re boring for being p***ed off about Hearn putting the price of the ppv 25% are trolling imo. We have every right to be wound up by the price hike, whoever is fighting.
Twenty you know the routine by now Id rather debate with Aydamn than him At the very least he truly believes what he posts
All it would take is a total boycott of sky sports boxing for 2 shows then this ppv nonsense will soon cease up...pay for it then your encouraging more of this
