We all known Tyson is 5 10’ or there abouts. However, after seeing a recent picture of him with the 6 2” Evander Holyfield he is, as you would expect with a 4 inch height difference, dwarfed by him. I couldn’t remember that much size difference when they were in the ring together years ago. I naturally went on to YouTube to rewatch there fights and there only seem 2 inches between them! Ditto when he’s in the ring with other 6 3” guys let alone 6 5” Lennox Lewis. Question is does anyone know if he wore lifts in his boots to gain a little height like Hollywood stars often do?
If that's the case then is record needs banishing from the sport. If it wasn't for his heels he would never have reached his opponents chins.
Tyson was 5'11 and the gap in inches is hard to gauge you`d need a tape measure, 6'2 really isn`t that tall at all.
6 5” Lennox? that’s 6 inch difference! Check out there fight Tyson should be totally dwarfed by him but somehow he isn’t although Lewis is clearly a lot taller it is nowhere near half a foot in it.
Tyson’s boxing boots had a really thick sole. If I remember correctly the bottom sole was almost 2 inches thick at the heel while Holyfield’s were pretty much flat. There is still roughly a 4 inch height difference between Holyfield and Tyson. Good picture! Tyson has a heel advantage there too! Evander is wearing flip flops to mikes trainers. Do you think the height difference looks larger now? I do there deffo seemed less height difference in the ring.
What I do know, is there'll probably never be another heavyweight the same height as Tyson and as successful as he was. Count on it!
