I'm sure Kessler didn't receive preferential treatment when he had all of those fights in Copenhagen without VADA.
Indeed he did. I had to check that fight to see how badly. More than a flash KD, but not too hurt. Unlike Green three rounds later... This content is protected
Kessler. I think Kessler is one of those guys who gets underrated. He was a very good technical boxer, strong with excellent stamina, very good power and an iron chin. He would out punch canelo at mid range and land his jab enough. Canelo isn't hurting him either. Canelo is a middleweight no matter what anyone says. He can beat selected super middles and even light heavys but they have to be the right opponent. Kessler simply isn't the right opponent. That's no shame on Canelo btw.
Not sure if serious... You better be trolling. Because I'm thinking of a big fight once that Kessler was in. Who was it against? Oh yeah, that's right. Your boy Froch. How did that go? Are you going to blame a volcano across the Earth for the loss as Froch did? Kessler was greater than Froch was half the times they fought.
I'd also add that Kessler was ALREADY on the decline when he beat Froch (who was in his prime) in their first fight. The Kessler of about three years prior would have beaten Froch by a wider margin. But yeah, prime Kessler would be the man at 168 right now. He'd be favored over Benavidez, Plant, and Smith.
I like Kessler a lot he just didn't fulfill his potential. Froch wanted the triology. Froch is better than Kessler. On every level. I'm sorry, Canelo has just soared above Kessler. Kovalev would've knocked Kessler into next week.
Kovalev was stopped by Eleider Alvarez and then within an inch of being stopped by Yarde, but he would've knocked Kessler into next week...
You're not very bright, are ya? A faded Kessler legitimately beat a PEAK Froch. How in the living Hell does that exhibit Froch being "better in every way"? Unless you're referring to the rematch - where EVERYBODY knew Kessler was shot, and Froch was the big favorite accordingly. Funny enough, that despite Froch giving a shot Kessler a beating... he still couldn't stop him. A prime Kovalev would beat Kessler... the Kovalev that fought Canelo sure as Hell would not beat a prime Kessler.
That is just silly. 1-1 in actual fights. Kessler definitely better at many things than Froch. Actually, better at more things if we start drilling down the list. Froch may have the better resume and thus the better fighter but they are closer to equals on every level. Obviously Canelo's career has already soared above Froch and Kessler both. That is not what this thread is about though. Kessler is a great at the weight class and to think Canelo is so above Kessler just seems wack. Ultimately Canelo has 2 wins at 168, 1 at 175. He's short. Picking Kessler is far from unreasonable.
