Apologies for misquoting. And that's fair.

But the way Inoue's opponents typically react to his body attack compared to the way Donaire was reacting to the body shots was something that truly astonished me.

But that's the thing about a sustained body attack.

Incidentally, Donaire was landing some damaging-looking shots downstairs as well. Neither guy neglected the body for long, even if they were generally doing more work upstairs.

Smith landed 1 partially landed right hook on Bivol and he was out on his feet. The man was DONE. He turned his back and was out of it. The bell then rang 1 second later.

Donaire is not a big bantamweight. He has the muscle mass of a 12 year ballet dancer...

It's just fans like you are always looking to discredit a boxer rather than give credit.

Donaire is super tough and wily. He made it a harder fight than anyone so far. Doesn't mean Inoue has overrated power, it means Donaire has an underrated chin.

He was closer to stopping Bivol than Inoue was to Donaire? Despite him putting Donaire down and failing to get up within the count but the ref giving him some leeway? Ret.ard alert class.

Indeed. Although he eventually crumbled like many before. Inoue is a punishing prospect to face, Donaire is just made of extremely tough stuff, teak is jealous of this man. I almost forgot to mention congrats on a 100k subs on youtube you've earned it the hard way but you've got it now.

Scary part is that Inoue hasn’t reached his prime so it’s definitely gonna be a treat to watch him grow (unless his eye presents a problem :ohno)

Did you even watch the fight. Bivols lights were shut off dude was out on his feet. I really have to wonder if anybody watched the fight if you cant acknowledge that.

He was wobbled, but I think out on his feet is a bit of an exaggeration. He still had the sense to be able to walk back to his corner right away. The shot landed a little after the bell too, so he probably wasn't expecting to be hit (though that's on Bivol).

Well I tend to rate fighters based on their latest fight like most people, but this time around I give him benefit of a doubt.

Inoue has ridiculously clean punches. Great angles, great velocity, and pure form. Its those things combined that puts away his opponents, not some raw Wilder type power.

The reason I give him a pass this time is due to the circumstances. He was cut early, his first major cut in his professional career. It was a first for him so he had to deal with blurred vision, irritability, and naturally protecting it. Let's see how his next few fights turn out until we dismiss his power.

If you base him being overrated off of 1 fight that lasted 11, you are no different than the pure 'stat fans' in basketball. 'WAH WAH RUSSELL WESTBROOK AVG TRIPLE DOUBLE / OH SNAP JAMES HARDEN GOAT SCORER OF ALL TIME' without taking the game itself into context.

Totally agreed. Not even the legendary Ruben Olivares could KO everyone at 118. Pointless thread.
