Eltirado.....I disagree with you on the point of Wilder being the hardest puncher to ever walk the planet. I will say that as much as I have not been and am not a fan , his right hand is an excellent weapon in his arsenal. I also think he has improved over the years. I think Marciano, yes Marciano, punched harder. Others throughout boxing history may punch as hard or harder also. No need to go down the list..there are others. Because a boxer reaches a 31 win mark due to ko's does not mean he is the hardest puncher of all times. Variables such as quality opponents etc. enter into consideration. Wilder has a very powerful right hand. He does not have a magic right hand that knocks out everyone when he touches them with it. Szpilka....Szpilka took the right hand until he ran into it. A sound argument can be made that the heavyweight division of today is not as deep or strong as past eras. Not overly impressed with the skill levels or the conditioning of many of them. Conditioning plays a role in punch resistance. On an anecdotal level, I have always taken a good punch. Never been knocked down or out. It seems to improve the better conditioned I am. Have noticed that in others also. There is no time machine that will allow us to drop Wilder into different time eras and test your statement or mine. Wilder is not the hardest puncher of all time. My opinion and I am sticking to it. Boxing is not a one trick pony event. Put a widely skilled boxer in with some pop and a good ring iq.....that is not a blood pressure patient....and Wilder will go to sleep. Grandpa Ortiz had him about to nap in the 7th during the first fight. Just as he would have in earlier eras. It is not significant if he is the most powerful puncher of all time if he fights someone that knocks him out. Shavers, Foreman, Bruno, Tyson, as posted above.
Deontay hits hard. But many heavyweights have hit just as hard. The test of power isn't how many knockouts you have, although that does tell part of the story. But what's far more important is the opposition you face. KO percentage plummets when you actually face real oppositions instead of crushing cans in walk over fights.
TBH I think too many people here are getting high on his nut juice. You really need to close you mouth if you are going to swing so hard from his nuts....
From a subjective POV we agree to disagree, as we obviously have our own strong opinions on this. From an Empirical evidence angle, science & computers will accept Deontay Wilder as the hardest puncher to ever walk earth, based on his statistics (if it was easy, it will be broken, just Like Marciano record was broken) Deontay Wilder Statistic World Record: Only Heavyweight Champion to reach 31-0-0-0 (KO 31) If it is easy & a mere "number" we will see future Heavyweight champions reach 32-0-0-0 (KO 32) at one point of their career, as of now it seems impossible & only Deontay Wilder was able of accomplishing that. If it easy...prove the Wilder believers wrong...break the world record.
To be proven the hardest hitting heavyweight ever, he’s going to need some cast ironed chinned heavyweights around to prove it, Unfortunately there’s none to be found in this current time. Certainly not Fury, Joshua or even Ruiz.
In the first fight Wilder wanted to show he could box and do 12 rounds. In the second when he wanted the KO stiverne ended up prostate, appearing to all as a sacrifice to the gods in like 30 seconds.
Wilder's achievement is not easy. It is impressive. I don't see a lot of challenges for him on the horizon. He might retire undefeated. I think Tyson may well be finished and have no real interest in a rematch. That is another thing I miss about past eras. The boxers seemed more interested in testing themselves against all comers. More excitement etc.
When Fury got baptized in round 12 he had a meeting with God. God said "ima send you back this one time but you better shape up Fury". He won't fight Wilder again.
Ah, of course! And in the Fury fight he wanted to show once again that he could go twelve round but also draw a fight?
How did he knock Fury unconscious? Fury was alert and climbing to his feet within 7 seconds. Wilder caught him as clean as any fighter can, flush, right on the button, and not just once, but a second time in a one-two. If Wilder were the puncher you claim he was Fury would have been totally spark out...like unconscious and unable to be roused at first. Then, having come round he would have been concussed, dazed, and in a fog. Again, that didn't happen. Not only was he back on his feet by 10 (just, admittedly), but he then proceeded to out box Wilder for the remainder of the round; proving he wasn't remotely concussed or dazed. These are the facts. Wilder is one of the worst heavyweight champions of recent times, and is laughed at by those with technical ability. His one asset, this so called legendary power, is grossly overstated, and his record is an embarrassing laundry list of bums and semi-pro nobodies. The fact he's still not fough AJ, despite claiming he's wanted it for years, or Whyte, or Parker, or Povetkin, or that he wanted no part of the Klitschko brothers, or anyone else in the top 10 from the last 5 or 6 years that might actually pose a challenge, tells you all you need to know about him. I don't believe a word he says when he claims others are ducking him or wouldn't agree this or that. He has, with the willing collusion of the WBC, held that belt hostage. The funniest part is that everyone sees through his attitude and persona, and laugh at the man. He thinks he projects an intimidating aura, but he just looks insecure. His despicable comments, his whining, his lying, his ducking, have made him one of the least liked fighters in the game. Most people have no time for him, which is reflected in his pitiful numbers and lack of popularity. Anyway, i know we shouldn't indulge trolls, but just in case they aren't trolls and are genuinely that delusional and loved up, it was worth taking 2 minutes to say my piece.
