I believe he should keep fighting Ricans, Brits, Dominicans and french to keep his KO percentage high.
1. Nonito is a stud. He's only been stopped once and that was by a giant savage 3 divisions higher. 2. He almost ended Nonito with a body shot extremely late in the fight. Everyone on this site can count on one hand how many times they've seen Nonito hurt. Him not being able to stop Nonito does not make his power overrated in the least. Inoue is a legit banger. Is he "the" hardest hitter in the sport? No. Is he in the upper tier of hitters? Absolutely
He could have issued a standing count when he saw Donaire wince and turn away. Instead he physically got between Donaire and Inoue, preventing Inoue from following up with additional punches (perfectly within his rights to do so if the ref hasn't initiated a count yet), waited for Donaire to walk around the ring (why?), then gave a ridiculous long count that lasted fourteen seconds in real time and which Donaire still hadn't got to his feet by at the count of ten. Really, the whole thing was just a shambles, and cost Inoue a win by stoppage.
He doesn't have the power either. I'm going to throw this out there. Inoue doesn't just hit harder than Smith P4P, he hits harder than him, period.
Maybe yes, maybe no. There's no way to say. Donaire got up at the count of 9 or 10. It may have been that he needed all of that time to get up or that he was just taking the maximum amount allowed. The fact remains that the count doesn't start until a glove or knee hits the canvas. Actually, technically the count doesn't start until the referee starts counting. They can slow count or fast count. They can take a couple seconds after the ten count to judge if a fighter is steady on their feet and their eyes are clear or to wipe off the gloves. I think there might be a rule somewhere about not starting a count until the opponent is in his corner. I think that's why Gene Tunney got a long count in the Dempsey rematch. I didn't see anything wrong with how things played out.
I wish someone would do that. There are so many of these threads. It's a simple test and only takes a couple of seconds. Bring a gauge around to all of the big boxing gyms and maybe tape fighters hitting it for a promo that runs before their fight. Or maybe just do it for the top ten at heavyweight? They got Marciano to do that once.

Most punchers are overrated, Inoue has legit KO power, how many KOs over elite comp has GGG gotten? Kovalev is a big puncher and couldn't KO geriatric Hopkins. When Rodriguez gives Nery problems people will realise Inoue is a big puncher. His body shots are devastating.
Finally a decent post. Its these guys here hyping up Inoue like he cracks harder than Beterviev or Smith Jr. p4p that are ridiculous. I never thought Inoue would stop him.
