..but the speed, the ring IQ and toughness excelled over more ripped looking opponents. Proves again what a legend he is and one does not need a body builder physique to be successful in boxing.

There's been a billion examples of this, it's common knowledge. Only newbie fans who think boxers and Football players should train the same think that

He never looked muscular for a super middleweight,
He was always in top top shape though.

I actually hated him at some point for schooling RJJ but the more I saw his fights and seeing what a mild mannered and humble champion he is I learned to respect and adore him.

Good old Welsh Valley fitness. Taffy toughness is all that was needed for Joe.

    He was better at 168.

a shot Roy Jones and way past his best Bernard Hopkins makes his resume at 175 lbs. look way better than it is.

    This.

Joe's resume is shocking considering how long he was active, the divisions he was active in, and who he could have fought.

Read his book. He's a slippery sod.

    Strange thread title.

    Why LHW?

He only had 2 official fights there.

He wasn't mild mannered and humble.

He was arrogant with a huge ego.

He certainly deserves to be ranked below Ernest M16 Mateen.

    Now, THAT guy was yoked!

ok. I watched this document and he came across at nice but I did not see his interviews on his heyday so I may have been disinformed.
