I didn't like him crying robbery even when he took a beating or schooling in the ams. I don't think I've ever seen a bigger whinger wearing a vest and i've been to Blackpool twice.
Because theres a clear agenda from some people about anyone affiliated with matchroom (which is just as if not more pathetic than the matchroom fanboys). The second a fighter signs with matchroom he will get a load of new casual fans (which is what you need to make good money) but there is a pretentiousness from the “hardcore” that if casuals think your a good boxer your of course crap. Like the type of people that only like bands when they are small or unheard of and dislike them when they get success. For example some here will tell you that AJ is one if the worst heavyweight champions of all time even though he clearly isnt but will bang on about a serbian heavy who is 6-0 against nobodies as the next big thing. Fowler obviously gets the same treatment, im not saying you have to like his personality but you cant ignore the fact he is entertaining.
Not sure about that, there are plenty of Matchroom fighters people seem to quite like generally. Fowler just rubs people up the wrong way. He is entertaining of course, just comes across as an insecure idiot.
have you ever come across any of his interviews very arrogant man! It is very easy to see why he is disliked, just look at the build up to the Fitzgerald fight the stuff he was coming out with , I don’t particularly like him or dislike him but it’s plain to see why he is on a whole not a fan favourite .
i dislike when he's promoting his CBD products, and at the same time proudly boasting there is no THC in it. There's a reason CBD is allowed to be sold in your local high street shops. It's not the real deal. I'm sure it helps people sleep better or whatever, but it's watered down. If you want to treat cancer, etc, then you need the THC. People are so confused by this. Ps, coming from a non smoker.
Can't knock a bloke that, openly or privately, offers his support to a strayer going through depression. Ok, it might not be in the best taste doing it publicly because it could be taken the wrong way, but that's a great gesture!
He's an absolute helmet and being Scouse, obviously has a very high opinion of himself. All the branding and merchandise he wears FFS, the guy has had a handful of pro fights and walks round thinking he's Mayweather. All very fake and for the cameras. He acts like he's a superstar, thinks he's god's gift and does the whole fake humble 'man of the people' act better than even Bellew. If you strip it back to his actual ability and take away the fact he's an annoying Scouser with Matchroom, he would be an absolute nobody fighting fellow nobodies. On Twitter he is just the same as Paul Smith and most of the other chip on the shoulder Scouser, searches out the negative comments and jumps all over them. Unbelievably insecure and paranoid individual. When Fitzy floored him and beat him it was my favourite moment of the decade, and not just in boxing.
It's what he does, the whole fake humble, man of the people routine. There's not a group of people alive who love themselves more than Scousers do. Everything they do has to MEAN more to them than anyone else and they have to show they care more than you do. As if he'd meet a complete randomer FFS.
Funnily enough, he thought Scott was a "complete randomer" and met him in the ring. I think this >>>>> is the correct timeline of events...
I don't mind him personally, but can see why he rubs some people up the wrong way. He's very confident and self assured, some will see him as arrogant and c0cky. He's also a Matchroom fighter and a Scouser, which some people tend to automatically dislike. As I say, I don't mind him, he seems like a decent guy in general, and as a boxing fan I like that he's got an entertaining style to watch, he will be in exciting fights and you can't fault his dedication and work ethic.
I'm not being funny mate, and I've got no dog in this fight, or nothing against you, but if that was the best moment in the last ten years of your life then you are one sad b@stard and I feel sorry for you as you clearly don't have a life.
Still surprises me how some people still use the fact that someone being ‘scouse’ is a legitimate reason to dislike them. Not only that, but slagging them off whilst being blissfully ignorant of the fact that some of your fellow posters are from there....and that’s coming from someone who isn’t a scouser.
I used being scouse as a reason why people might not like Fowler. Maybe I should've been clearer that I don't see it as a legitimate reason to dislike somebody, just saying there does seem to be a section of people I see online, Twitter mostly, who just seem to be anti scouser. Not my feelings, far from it. I actually have a soft spot for Liverpool and Liverpudlians. Made many a scouse friends on holidays, I'm a Rangers fan but Liverpool have always been the English team I like to "support" my second team if you like, and now we even have Stevie G as the manager of Rangers. So I definitely didn't mean to disrespect the Fine city of Liverpool and it's good people and apologise if it seemed like I did!
