Listen here you little creep, you've been on the offense from the get go, and it's winding me up now. Do you not know how to have a dialogue?

I think you've got too wrapped up in your sad little internet world mate, you need to check your attitude, and yeah I bet you haven't stepped in a boxing ring before and if you have it's probably some air conditioned boxercise class.

    Are you kidding me?
There were calls in most major publications for "Someone to save the white man.".
Have you watched the end of the Jim Jeffries fight?!
People had to shield the guy?
It was said that the corner was calling him racial slurs all fight and you can see him laughing at them in the video.

You live in a bubble, you're a moderator on a forum for christs sakes.
You need to learn your history pal.

Don't act online in a way that you wouldn't in real life, because I've seen people get the spit slapped outta there mouth for a lot less than telling someone to shut up.

Hi there. No clue what's going on but the way you've addressed my colleague tells me you want some time off. Bon voyage!

:') Ya'll are some sad ass people.
Also bro he's not your colleague unless you get paid.
A job doesn't consist of monitoring some sad echo chamber full of 40 yr old white dudes who have never done the thing they claim to know about, no one is paying you to be a loser :')

Is this what you do? Chuck transgressions about, at someone trying to start a dialogue, and then ban them when they bite?
Makes sense I see a lot of bans on this forum.

Try banning people you disagree with in real life.
    Internet guys, pfft.

Hilarious comment as the guy you're talking to is an actual Boxing historian. You can easily find his work.

Maybe learn about who you're talking to?

Being on the "offense" and having a dialogue aren't exclusive of each other.

Look; this happens here a lot. Guy says "i bet you haven't boxed, i'll kick your ass" or something like it. Then the next guy says "i've boxed i'll kick your ass." What are you going to do if I say i've boxed? Call me a liar, probably. But i'm 43. Any boxing I might have done is in the distant past. What's the difference?

Without clicking on all these links i'll concede that they show that Johnson suffered racism.

I've never disputed that he suffered racism. I never would dispute it. It is absolutely true. Why are you proving to me that Johnson suffered racism?

    What you ACTUALLY SAID:

"He didn't get any respect from the media in the years he was alive and for quite a few decades afterwards, because he was an outspoken, brash, black man, who married white women.
    THAT'S A FACT!"

But it's not a fact. It's made up. YOU made it up, posted it on this forum, and then tried to prove that it was true by posting links that show Johnson, the son of a slave, suffered racism. It makes absolutely no sense.

Yes? Ok, let's try it then.

I have an active social life. A large extended family. I attend fights often, many other sporting events. I travel extensively. Boxing history is a hobby of mine and the people who own this site asked me if i'd be interested in moderating this sub-forum and I said yes.

Now what? What do you want to do now?

Yeah, yeah, we've all seen stupid violence perpetrated at some point or another. No badges are given out.

Unchecked overt/excessive aggression towards moderators = suicide by cop. It is what it is, and it by no means is endemic to this forum. Get a grip yourself there son.

Listen I'm not gonna waste my time with all this quoting stuff.
I never said I'd kick your ass, would never say that online or in real life, outside of a competitive environment, even then it would be in a jovial way.

What you're saying is probably true Mcgrain, but I'll say it again, I don't think you've ever been in the ring, you're an armchair expert, and regardless of what you do outside, it's objectively embarrassing to be a moderator on a forum. Especially as a grown ass man.

Regardless of that, maybe take a look at my first post again, and you'll see how innocuous it was.
Merely trying to start a dialogue, to try and figure out the lack of love JJ gets on this forum and comparing his behaviour and subsequent treatment (right or wrong.) to someone like Roberto Duran.
Then your little bum brigade here went on the offensive (typical of you internet types.), instead of giving me some reasoning?!

I got a decent and respectful response from PhillyPhan69, and I think I treated him in kind.
Yet you Mcgrain like the sad little man you are had to feign outrage as if I'm specifically calling you out, I don't even know you, why would I call you out specifically?

Also just because something is widespread doesn't mean its not a coward move, forums are full of them.

If you think you're so much of an expert you should have been able to refute me without trying to be offensive. Instead you act like a child, when you yourself admitted that you're in your 40s.

I think it's you guys who need to get a grip tbh.
But hey ho we're all entitled to our opinions.

Because its all bluster otherwise. Don't bother saying the 'you haven't boxed' **** on a borderline anonymous forum unless you can prove it.

(and yes I agree with you that many here haven't boxed).

One last thing before I go,
The fight was set for 26 December. The setting, a vast outdoor stadium at Rushcutters Bay. Norman Lindsay drew advertising posters for the event showing a towering black figure shaping up against a much smaller white man. Sydney’s Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News anticipated the racial temper of Australian boxing fans with an emphatic editorial: “Citizens who have never prayed before are supplicating Providence to give the white man a strong right arm with which to belt the **** into oblivion.”
These words sound respectful of a man who beat all other contenders before him?

Randolph Bedford, one of the Bulletin school, wrote an account of the fight for the Melbourne Herald. He saw the contest as “white beauty” fighting “black unloveliness” and going down heroically. He likened Johnson to “a caged brute”. He saw in the crowd “all the hatred of 20,000 whites for all the negroes in the world”. And, like most reporters after the fight, he was compelled to stress Burns’ courage, his wonderful endurance under punishment. Bedford eulogised Burns: “His courage still shone in his eyes; his face was disfigured and swollen and bloodied. Yet he was still beauty by contrast … clean sunlight fighting darkness and losing.” Bedford saw the fight as did many others, as both a tragedy and a warning. His bitterness was unbounded. But for the English slave trade, he wrote, “Johnson might still be up a tree in Africa”.
This is respectful of the man who just became the champ?

Nothing i've said comes out of fantasy and I think you know that deep down. Maybe I shouldn't have aaid "NO respect."
A lack of respect would've been more appropriate.

First off, I never claimed to be able to box I said I bet HE hasn't stepped in the ring.
Second off, with the immature reactions I've got on this forum, there is no way I'd publish a y personal data about myself here.

On a sidenote, trained from the ages of 12-16, never had an amatuer fight, never had a pro fight, had one local "tough guy" fight (complete **** show.), but yeah I can say I spent a good deal of my childhood in a crappy little ABC with 6 bags and one ring in it, currently training once a fortnight at a more modern, less competitive gym.
I'm not talented, but I know the grind.
    I don't think you do.
