Deontay Leshun Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz II & Léodegario Santa Cruz vs. Miguel Flores RBR

So, they were hyping Wilder’s newly trained left hook all fight. It wobbled Ortiz a little once. Was that a one time anomaly or is this another weapon to fear in his arsenal? It would certainly make him a little less one dimensional.

 

I was thinking Wilder's outfit looked a little illuminatiesque tonight.... perhaps he dipped his right hand in evil satanic water.

 

The man was pawing with the jab decently well, despite losing a lot of those rounds.

You can tell he's been working on his boxing game for this fight.

Ortiz is a damn good boxer, no matter what some people like to suggest.

You can tell he was watching a lot of Lennox Lewis in preparation for this bout, the pawing with the jab was a Lewis signature.

 

Ortiz detonated as Wilder finds the right hand again. Along with absolutely insane power, he does have hand speed and timing. He goes into fights looking only for the KO and finds a way to land that right hand bomb at some point. That's not easy. Anyone who thinks Ortiz wasn't KTFO either just hates Wilder or is really stupid. Ortiz had frozen face and the blank stare for like 5 seconds, he had no idea where he was. Ortiz looked good for the first 6 rounds, homeboy can still box, man. But, he started dropping the lead hand and it was only a matter of time....detonation was imminent.

 

We can hope for 1 heavy champ 2020...
I like Wilder, Fury and Ruiz....
I dont have anything against AJ, Ortiz, Usyk or anyone else really...
Interesting as top guys all bring something different, the old styles make fights is applickable n very interesting here..

I’m very curious to see how Ruiz reacts to his power. Wilder hits harder than Joshua, but he punches hard as f*** too, and Ruiz just shrugged them off.

Ortiz fought a great fight. His age showed-especially in his legs, but he adjusted as well as he possibly could’ve by not overextending much. He’s shown he’s still extremely formidable, funny seeing all the people discrediting him despite outboxing Wilder at least as convincingly as Fury. Here’s hoping he gets one or two more fights against top 10 HWs to close out his career.

Yeah, Ortiz is no slouch. But styles make fights and Wilder had the length and defensive reflexes necessary to nullify Ortiz’s offense (for the most part) and the power to keep him honest. Ortiz would be an even tougher opponent against guys who had to stay in his range to fight him. Might be the worst possible matchup for him.

 

Fury was right: Wilder only has to be good for 1 or 2 seconds of a fight.

 

I think that must be a case of targeted advertising.

 

You're the one that rolled in here, disrespectfully (and incorrectly) saying that anybody who saw Ortiz winning six was "letting Wilder hate blind them", which looks really stupid as many of those who scored it so are Wilder fans. And screw you once more for the baldfaced arrogance of that statement. Like the pair of rounds you scored for Wilder are so clear for him that you can't see how anyone could possibly have them for Ortiz without injecting bias into their scoring. GTFOH.
