Im only matching him up against wilder . despite the weight and height difference . i thought of this fight because wilder is so technically flawed and leaves openings in himself that marciano could capitalize on. And vice versa with marciano leaving himself open tp wilders right hand. Wilder is a slow starter and not and technically sound. Wilder needs quite a bit of distance to generate power to his hits except with his uppercut as he can generate power from. Close distance with that punch only Because wilder needs distance and only counts on one shot also not as technically sound at keeping opponents back . marciano's style fits that part flaw in wilders style Either wilder stops marciano ..early to late rounds Or Marciano works on him closing distance against wilder therefore cutting him off from generating power in his punches. Marcianos volume + pressure and body work Im not saying marciano beats wilder. Im just saying marciano is a live dog in this fight and has a chance still Marciano would easily be top 5 in wilders opponents that he has faced I still favor wilder over marciano ofc . however wilders flaws fit into marciano style advantages.
Completely and fully believe Marciano wouldn't be knocked out by any one punch, whether it be from Shavers, Wilder, Foreman or Mas ****ing Oyama
Rocky would be a nightmare for no-footwork Wilder to land clean on. His low stance means that Wilder is really going to have to go looking for Marciano, whereas Marciano is not going to find it hard to find Wilder. Most of the fight is going to be close quarters mauling stuff where Rocky's t-rex reach is going to be much more useful than Wilder's long levers. I usually feel Marciano would have a nightmarish time against a modern super-heavy that knows to fight tall (Lewis, Wlad, Vitali etc) but Wilder is not that man. His boxing skills are so poor that Marciano is going to be able to force a close quarters fight virtually all of the time and DW doesn't clinch, either. Sure: DW has the advantage of size and power. The question is will he be able to use it to full effect? I say no.
I don’t think Wilder would ever land a flush right hand on Marciano. Unlike Ortiz, who has always been a sucker for right hands, since even his amateur days Wilder would have an extremely hard time landing clean on Marciano, who was harder to land clean on than people think. Marciano would see those right hands coming from a mile away. Also, Wilder’s stubbornness and poor footwork would really work against him, since Marciano isn’t an opponent you can afford to waste energy against. Marciano’s crouch would have Wilder missing right hands all night and unlike Fury, who spent more time posing instead of fighting Marciano would make Wilder pay every time he missed. Back when Wilder was at the fight factory sparring with Medzhid Bektemirov Wilder was struggling to land anything and got dropped several times. Only when the head trainer Sal got on Wilder’s case about falling for the same counter several times did Wilder follow some instructions and perform better.
Calling out Wilder's footwork while defending Marciano's is pretty funny. Deontay's footwork to set up the coup de grace was perfect. His range and speed covering the ring would leave Marciano swinging at air and the recipient of too many right hands... basically, one. Marciano would simply be out of his depth against Wilder. Too much man, too much power.
I'm not to confident that Rocky win s here. Not saying Wilder s on a ATG level but he's enough about him to hammer the smaller guy. I don't think it's a walk in the park for Wilder either, Marciano would be doing his damn hardest to take his head off. But Marciano takes a lot of hard shots here that eventually has him dropping to the canvas. No one shot ko here imo.
Best breakdown of what would happen...this is just a terrible matchup for Wilder. He would be breathing so heavy by round 3 it would be obvious who was gonna win at that point.
