Lol how many top ten guys has Wilder beaten? Let alone HOFs. How about the great Ortiz? Bums plain and simple. These guys avoid each other like the plague spend their time knocking out second raters and acting like their ATGs. Lastarza or Layne would be Wilders best win and I’d bet a lot Walcott would starch him. Marciano also wasn’t prime when Moore dropped him thag was his last fight.
Man, some folks can't accept that times have changed. There would still be a place for him in the shoe factory.... in Indonesia.
Marciano was 32 years old.Moore was 39 according to him, 41 according to his Mother. He was past prime, Walcott was past prime ,Charles was past prime. Lastarza was dropped and beaten by a light heavyweight journeyman 3 fights before he went 11 rds with Marciano.Wilder would decapitate both him and tubby Rexy.Ortiz would beat Lastarza like a drum koing him inside 5 rounds. There is nothing Layne could do that Ortiz couldnt do 3 times better! Here is some footage for you guys to go all mushy over. This content is protected
I like how you completely avoided the question. How many top ten guys did Wilder take on? Also Your arguments are ridiculous what one fighter does against another fighter has nothing to do with anything. Cooper dropped Ali what two fights before Liston? Does that mean Liston can’t punch? The argument u keep making doesn’t make sense find a new one. Only logical argument against Marciano is his small resume. The dice thing really doesn’t matter as he did take on larger people although not his best opponents and handled them. When wilder knocks out Fury, AJ, or Ruiz let me know.
LOL, agreed the unbeatable Marciano...........a couple of days ago in the general they showed a vid of prime MIke Tyson doing some bag work......the difference in speed, power and skill is night and day. And , yes, Wilder would KO Marciano out cold.........fast forward in a time machine his handlers would never allow him to fight at Heavy....
These are the ranked contenders in Marciano's reign. Valdes no 1 for 2 years,53&54 , no title shot Layne Dunlap Henry Williams Lastarza Sys Bivins Neuhaus Charles Bucceroni Walls Satterfield Wallace Cokkell Harrison Baker Jackson Y J Johnson Norkus Slade Holman Pastrano Moore Summerlin 25 names ,how many of them would beat Ortiz? How many of them would crack the top ten today?
The arguments against Marciano are Slow handspeed, slow footspeed, small stature, unproven against a class super heavy, tendency to cut.
At their best I’d pick a lot of those names to beat Ortiz. Ortiz has literally beaten no one of importance. I suppose you’d look highly upon Marciano if he only faced Big Bill Wilson 40 times because that’s the skill level of these out of shape fighters today. And Valdez got whooped by Moore that’s why he didn’t get a shot. Had he won the eliminator he would have got knocked out himself.
And some of those are valid arguments except Marciano’s hand speed and foot speed was NEVER an issue because of his awkward style he was great at closing the gap and landing unorthodox shots. His hand speed is also not nearly as slow as some report. He never had a fight stopped on cuts despite being cut. His larger opponents weren’t very good that he beat but the ones he did face he knocked them all out. I’d say his biggest question mark is can he take a shot from a monster like a Tyson or wilder? But let’s be real wilder never faced a monster either
Wilder has power and looked good vs Ortiz and Ortiz is very good but even though he is listed as 41, they are saying hes 50 - Stiverne was 38 - Lets see how Wilder holds up against some young punchers before we decide to match him against ATG- everyone did that with AJ and now we have to say Ruiz took his place- time will tell
