Usyk and Luis Ortiz actually have a common opponent

1-0 Usyk TKO 4 Epifanio Mendoza *Usyk scored 2 KDs*

14-0 Luis Ortiz WDQ 7 (low blow) Epifanio Mendoza *the only time Mendoza hit the canvas was from a vicious low blow*

Another thing to take into consideration when comparing Ortiz and Usyk.

Ortiz is 6’4, Usyk is 6’3 but both have a 78’ reach.

Outside of weight there is little difference and weight won’t be a factor against Wilder who as we know is only 210-220lbs.

People talking about outboxing Wilder when Wilder doesn't care about that. He's just looking to knock you out so it doesn't go to the scorecards. It's pretty much a given fact that Usyk outboxes Wilder the majority of the fight. But whether he can avoid getting KO'd by Wilder's nuclear punches is another story. People thinking Wilder can only hurt you with a right straight when fact is he can hurt you with either hand and has nuclear power on the left hook as well.

Wilder indeed has improved his left hook, but against Ortiz he was very reluctant using it and in the beginning it made him look like an amateur again. I think he respected Ortiz' counterpunching and didn't dare to rely more on his left hook. I mean Ortiz came quite explosive in some rounds with his counterpunching.

I think Ortiz's billed height/reach are possibly generous too - if you put him next to Usyk I'd not be surprised if Usyk is equal or beyond Ortiz in both.

Wilder is sometimes in the 220's, & has been as high as near 230.
But given how tall he is, he is still thin for a HW.

So now the next Boogeyman arrives.............a guy who had ONE fight at Heavy who was the can of all cans when he was prime 15 years ago and still got marked up.............C level Bellew landed plenty , I mean plenty until he gassed.

Wilder will lay out Usyk cold.....that aint nuthugging............he is getting hyped to the max same as those two other can crushers GGG/Kova who packed it in the moment they stepped up.............his resume at Cruiser means shid, a shid division nobody watches with fighters who cannot make light heavy and are afraid stepping up to Heavy. fact.

Although I like Usyk, I'm not sure his chin could take Wilder's power. I remember in the Hunter fight where he looked like he was going to be taken out. He did well to conceal it but I just don't know how good his chin is.

Here we go again with Wilder. Some people just dont learn.
So now its Usyk who is going be beat Wilder huh?
I like Usyk I have him on my profile pic
But, he doesnt have the pop to keep Wilder off of him.
Wilder knocks him out to. Wilder knocks out everyone in the division. The only guy that has a legitimate chance against Wilder is AJ.
Styles make fights and I think AJ has the style to beat Wilder

Guess you haven't been here much.. Usyk isn't the NEW anything. Many gave him a good shot over DW even before this last fight.

wilder cant fight inside of mid range, his only punch is his uppercut, and that leaves his chin exposed. his inside hooks are palm punches, he dont know how to hook tightly. you need to get inside and hook with him, weaving your head in a figure 8, using that momentum to throw tight hooks to the head and body. throw a few quick hooks and slip to the outside of his lead foot and punch him again.
keep the pressure on him. wilders best asset is his explosiveness, hes a sprinter. you want to work him hard the first few rds to slow some of that explosiveness. any time his right hand is in position to come with leverage, you need to be fully alert. if you need a mental break, get distance to the side or clinch next time youre in position. your chin should always be a couple inches from your chest anytime youre in the guard position, and unless youre punching, you should always be in the guard position.
if you do stun him, half step back and fire hard straight punches. wilders instinct is to palm down and out to get his head above your punches, its how he ties up. in a haze, his body will react like its used to.
of course, all of this requires a complete fighter to execute.
