Canelo should make a nice easy trip to the UK

canelo will be too much for both -- smith was not impressive on Saturday. I thought he would handle Ryder with ease

 

Caneloroid is a **** but he would eat both Smith and BJS for lunch. Easywork for him.

 

Can’t see how it could make sense for Canelo to trek to the UK at this point in his career.

He gets paid huge dazn money and it’s not really dependent upon opponent or locale. He’d be paid the same for beating up a sparring partner in an empty arena as long as dazn approved the fight.

Canelo is dazn’s only real star in the American market. He’s the guy who moves subscriptions for them, to whatever degree they’re able to entice people to pay in the U.S. market. Fighting on UK time isn’t a good fit for them to sell the fight to potential subscribers.

If Smith or whoever wanted to come fight him in Las Vegas, sure, if dazn thought it would be something they could promote, but other than that I don’t see it.

 

I stated as much earlier in this thread mate.dazn subs being forced to watch Canelo at 3 in the afternoon! Ludicrous

 

It’s not the time on a weekend that people who pay want to see it. They want to get together with their friends and imbibe and make a night of it.

And an afternoon fight guaranteed wouldn’t generate as many new subs as a night fight would.

There’s literally nothing to gain by him going to the UK ... his purse is guaranteed by and set by his contract with dazn. If you think it would generate a big crowd over there ... so what? It’s not like he’s not filling arenas already, Canelo would do that anywhere.

So what’s the reason he should go over there?
