Louis was washed up,as was Savold. It wasnt a one punch ko Louis had just landed a big right hand.
Louis had 10 comeback fights and scored 3 stoppages, one over the used up Savold the other 2 were tko's caused by cuts.

I question his power for two reasons.

    1. Half of his victims were ham and eggers

    2. He never ko'd a modern sized heavyweight of any ability who was in his prime.as such his power against such means it is totally unproven!
Marciano had excellent stamina but his major fights were against past prime, older men, so you would logically expect him to be stronger than them as the fight progressed into the later stages.
How would he perform against a class, prime ,240lbs ,6'6", heavy hitting monster?

Frazier was taller than Rocky and considerably quicker he was also 20lbs heavier.Tyson up to 30lbs heavier and a lot faster.

Many people say Frazier was no bigger then 5”9. So I’ll go in the middle and say they were the same height. He was about 15 pounds heavier then Marciano and I understand the ham and egger statement. But the problem with that is Wilders opposition was older and worse. The other problem is with your argument is Marciano looked just fine against heavier and taller opposition as well as younger competition like Layne and Lastarza and Matthews. Also the older competition were champions or ex champs and were still fighting great. Charles looked like very little difference from his prime (only slightly worn) Walcott although slightly less springy still looked amazing sharp and strong and Moore was fighting at his best at the moment so it’s hard to take away from that. If you told me Marciano struggles mightily against the Louis size advantage (which he didn’t) or the Schkor ot Vingo height advantage I might give it to wilder. But wilder has not proven he could hang with someone of Marciano’s caliber. I honestly am shocked with the amount of people picking wilder. If wilder had actually knocked out top contenders like that I’d be impressed but he really hasn’t faced anyone other then Fury and Fury won imo

Has Wilder ever weighed 240 lbs? He was only 219 last fight and was lighter again vs Fury. His power is freakish given how lean he is.

I'd favour Wilder because I don't think I've seen a guy with his natural power and explosiveness. Tyson had the explosiveness and better skills without the concussive power, Foreman had the power and more strength minus the accuracy and explosiveness. I expect Wilder to lose eventually but he is one of the most unique power punchers at heavyweight I've seen in my time at least.

Rocky's a bit too small and at too much of a reach disadvantage with a guy who can crack like this.

These dumb azz threads need to stop. No matter how overrated Bum Squad Deontay Wilder is, he is still a heavyweight. Rocky Marciano was a 185 pound Cruiser weight. Deontay Wilder would destroy Marciano in less than 30 seconds.

If Frazier was 5' 9", Marciano was 5'8"! Marciano never fought a class modernheavyweight who was prime he only faced the facsimile that was Louis who, by his own mouth said his last great fight was against Tami Mauriello, 5 years earlier!

Many of the top heavyweights today weigh in that region do they not?

Def not. Several people have said no way Frazier was 5”11. Either way they were basically the same height and that doesn’t change the fact that you would prob pick Frazier and Tyson over wilder even when most people of Frazier’s day picked Marciano as the superior fighter. Walcott has said Marciano was stronger then Louis and I think Louis is proven enough against super heavies. If he had the power Marciano def does. Wilder has yet to prove himself against any good fighter only fat slow guys with limited skills

    Some do for sure.

I thought we were specifically talking about Wilder who is a bit of an anomaly with his relatively lean physique and low weight for a 6ft 7" guy.

In fact he's splattered more than a couple 240+ guys to fly the flag for the leaner is meaner crew. I'm a fan hence favouring him over a proven great like Rocky already.

This would be an execution, when ever Wilder hurled a bomb Rocky would be right in front of him.

You forget the great axiom... All heavyweights are smaller than they claim... Except Marciano. His measurements were spot on!

Local clubfighter Chisora who KOed Szpilka in 2, after he took Wilder deep, and nearly everyone had him ahead on points when he was stopped in the 9th.

If Chisora is a local clubfighter, we are in one of the worst heavyweight eras in history, and Wilder is nothing.

I doubt Id pick Frazier over Wilder.Tyson yes.
I'd pick Marciano over Frazier too.
Walcott said Marciano had better one punch power IHO.That was on the tv program How It Was.
I've never seen a quote where he said Marciano was stronger.Which doesn't matter anyway, since the strongest man whoever boxed was Paul Anderson and he was absolute ****!
Louis was proven against super heavies because he ko'd a bunch of them ,Marciano never did.
    It's that simple.
