January eleventh @ the Alamodome. For some ungodly reason, this is scheduled for 12 rounds even though no hardware or eliminator advancement will be at stake (with O'Sullivan not rated top 15 by any major org, and Munguía in his first middleweight contest since July of 2017 (yet billed nonetheless as his "MW debut"). :shakehead:

Mungia by decision, in a harder fight many expect. O'Sullivan isn't that good and one dimensional, but Mungia isn't all that either.

I have to back Spike as a fellow Irishman even if he's a Cork wanker.

Id love to see Spike win hes a great lad and has got himself into some positions but got Munguia wide here. I think hes better than his last performance also, he was very lucky against Hogan that time. Styles make fights though

Munguia exposed himself in his last three fights. He's just really bad but young. So he can improve for sure but i doubt it'll be enough. He's a weight bully. There is a reason why GBP is matching him with guys like O'Sullivan, Cook, Hogan, Allotey or Inoue. Because the elite guys at 154 would wreck him. Even 147 Jessie Vargas would probably beat him and Munguia knew that so he ducked him although Vargas was calling him out a couple of times and everyone was interested to make the fight. Munguia get brutally stopped at 160 anytime soon. Spike probably too old and worn down but thats exactly the reason why DLH and GBP picked him.

    Munguia by KO.

Still...Munguia is a fake hype job.

Spikes TRUE division should always have been light middleweight. Unfortunately for him his big chances ...Eubank Lemieux and now munguia come at 160. The fact that he is so much smaller than moving-up light middleweight munguia says it all.

That said spike was very unlucky against Lemieux and munguia is a very poor boxer. ( fit brave and tough yes, but awful defense). Munguias total lack of defense gives spike a real chance here.

I’d favor spikes chances a lot more if munguia had to boil down to 154. Spikes by no means a no hoper here though. Any results possible. Spike could easily win this by ko. But probably the fitter fresher youngerbetter-engine guy takes over in the second half of the fight. Very hard to say. I can’t emphasise enough how bad munguia is. He had no future in boxing at world level. Or any level actually.

Watching O'Sullivan get a beating should happen on a monthly basis.
