is that he only has a right hand. No one wants to get hit by his hook either. The Stooges can't help themselves.
Dude, the guy is as close to being a one trick pony as is humanly possible. His picture is in the urban dictionary next to this expression. His trick seems to work so more power to him but don’t try to convince anyone that he’s a boxer. “I’m better than Ali” my ass.
I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. You need to read the title again. He doesn't just have a right hand. His blinded Ortiz with his jab the threw the right to close the show. He also has a wicked left hook. No one is insinuating that he's the most skilled fighter. The one dimensional label is a new slander that all of a sudden everyone has jumped one.
Blame him. He's the one talking about he only has to be perfect for '1 second' in reference to his right hand.
Because he knows that his right hand is a bomb. He didn't think people would be stupid enough to think that he meant that was his only weapon.
His jab is alright. But the LH doesn't take anybody out. I remember Fury went to the body and Wilder countered him with a flush LH to the face then smiled and pointed at him as though he'd got him good. But it didn't really do anything to Fury. Only the RHs did. So it's not to say Wilder doesn't have a LH or can't ever hurt people with it, but it's clearly not a devastating weapon like the RH is and it's clearly not an ATG LH like Wlad's etc. When has any fighter or trainer ever said: We can't afford to take that LH of Wilder, that LH could change the fight at any moment, got to keep away from that LH, the power in that LH is unbelievable, that LH is a game changer, that LH is a fight ender ... etc. But ask Pulev or Eddie Chambers about Wlad's LH !!!
When a lot of your wins are one hitter quitters from that shot after you've been getting outboxed and you then say things like that then people are going to say that about you. I don't remember Randall Bailey crying about it.
There's a difference between best weapon vs. only weapon. Any fighter will feel disrespected if people downplay their talents and call them one dimensional.
And I'm saying he downplays his own abilities outside of his money punch with his right hand focussed rhetoric.
Actually it's a compliment. Before we saw him as a bum-killer supreme and a joke. Now we are at least acknowledging that he may be a can crusher, but he does has a very fine straight right.
Eh, I don't know. His jab is not good, he just uses it as a distance measure more than anything else. Off the top of my head I can't remember him doing much else with his left hand. I know it was his left that landed on Fury in the 12th but I think the right had done the damage. Don't think I've seen enough evidence of a 'wicked' left hook.
