Is the muscle really the issue with him? I dont think hes much more muscly than wlad was and he had great stamina Joshua looks a bit more muscly becayse he has brown skin. If you rubbed that bodybuilder brown paint on wlad he would look about the same.
Joshua is the very definition of a bodybuilder. Muscular, but very low in bod fat. It's just a illusion , that's all it is. These muscular guys, looking bigger than what they are because they are ripped. Anthony's muscles are just filled up with worthless synthol fluid . I bet Ruiz is stronger than Joshua bench pressing . Anthony 's probably starving , and weakening himself at that same. Just to get that phony six pack. The blob don't care about diets! He's not drained! He's probably in McDonald's now, training to crush than puny bodybuilder with his enormous belly! Lol
Some guys are naturally muscular and more inclines to explosive work rather than endurance its just everyones body is different Anthony is a big heavyweight... when you think big heavyweights endurance is the last thing to come to mind Having said that, I reckon AJ’s endurance is fine.. not perfect but ive never seen it cost him a fight everyone is just reaching as usual *rolls eyes*
No but seriously Look at wlads chest, his biceps, his thighs. Proportionally hes around the same as AJ
Wlad didn't have great stamina. His stamina was quite mediocre. He used to gass badly until he adjusted his style to be more of a boring spoiler/clincher type.
Wlad was a warrior and a fighter. Joshua is a Hugo Boss boxer model who gets paid copious amounts of money to fight. Wlad top 10 GOAT. Joshua top 10 Hugo Boss boxer model of all time and he doesnt even model for Hugo Boss.
Of course to feed those muscles it needs more oxygen, that's how it works. Reducing weight and muscle betters leanness, speed and stamina. It's not exactly rocket science. It might reduce power too, but he needs to land on Ruiz and avoid his punches to win the rematch.
Joshua is way more bulky than Wlad. HE holds far too much muscle and it's detrimental to his fighting. Plus he's had the worst HGH gut I've seen at HW.
I agree that too much muscle on a boxer can lead to problems. When it comes to Joshua though I think it has been one of his virtues, he can outmuscle and overpower a lot of boxers, and that as played to his advantage. When Joshua loses; I do not think too much muscle is the reason. If he was 15 pounds lighter I would of expected even that version of Wladimir to have a easier time with him.
It actually isn’t the amount of muscle, but Joshua’s poor ring efficiency that results in him gassing out. Joshua’s still very inexperienced and is very wasteful with his footwork and over throws his punches a lot. If you look at how Joshua covers the ring in the Ruiz fight Joshua often takes 4-5 steps while Ruiz only takes 1-2 steps to cover the distance and attack. Joshua also always takes huge steps even when it unnecessary. Around the 1 minute mark watch Foreman’s feet and see how Foreman is very efficient with every step he takes. If two steps aren’t enough he leans and shifts his weight or spins, but still doesn’t take any unnecessary steps. Foreman was around 230 lbs in this video. This content is protected Those extra steps by Joshua not only waste energy, but make him predictable and easier to figure out. Somebody Joshua’s size should be able to easily cover the ring and get into any position he wants by sliding his feet with two steps. Here is Joshua working on the pads with McCracken. Even during this exercise McCracken tried to get Joshua relax and place his punches closer together. Joshua also is doing a lot of unnecessary movement s in this drill and those habits do carry over into fights. McCracken also keeps telling Joshua to turn the back foot and rotate the shoulders when he throws the right hand and follows it up with the left hook. Joshua’s shoulders should be replacing each other, since not only would he generate more power, but it would make his head a less harder target to counter and he’d get his punches off faster. This content is protected Wlad, Primo Carnera, Lennox Lewis, and other guys, who were around Joshua’s size and were muscled up and didn’t have stamina problems, but they were also very efficient with their footwork and didn’t over throw their punches. However, to be fair even Wlad before he became more experienced struggled with ring efficiency and gassed out and got stopped in some of his earlier fights. When I used to train I got cussed out plenty of times for screwing up on footwork or on the pads, but getting harshly corrected is the only way to learn.
This. Wlad is the naturally bigger man with a larger frame. Joshua is jacked up with bodybuilder muscle.
