Good post, question, do you think Holy makes a good point on how Tua's punches could be thwarted because he punches (around). It's the like the last minute in this video. Which is why I would give Rocky a chance. Marciano had a really quick uppercut. If he is on the inside, he's okay even though David fought on the inside, he still punched around. IMO I think that works great for taller fighters, but someone his own size may negate his best asset, being able to load up. This content is protected
Lol yeah this is the last comment I will make to you. Rocky Marciano never fought a modern sized heavyweight. Marciano by today's standards would be considered a small cruiserweight. The fighters Marciano fought against were either cruiserweights by modern standards or even smaller. The guys who Marciano fought who were over 200 pounds were Bill Hardeman who weighed as low as 189 and had a career record of 1-6. Humphrey Jackson who weighed as low as 160 and had a career record of 4-3, James Partrick Connely who had a career record of 12-9, Artie Donato who weighed as low as 188 and had a career record of 7-13, Edridge Eatman who had a career record of 22-21 and weighed as low as 182, Johnny Shkor who had a career record of 31-19, Big Bill Wilson, Keene Simmons record 9-22, and a few other guys who weighed 200 pounds when Marciano fought them. None of these guys were considered even elite for the time and they most certainly aren't as skilled as modern heavyweights. You are a clown kid. But so are every other Marciano fan. David Tua was a modern sized and modern skilled heavyweight and fought modern sized and skilled heavyweights. Rocky Marciano was a 185 pound guy with no skills who fought mostly guys his size or smaller. Walcott was a 190 pound guy and Charles was a 175 pound guy. So Marciano beating a light heavyweight and a cruiser weight means he could beat a modern skilled and sized heavyweight? Yeah you are dismissed now. Oh by the way this is what delusional Marciano fanboys do to try to prove their point. David Tua only weighed 210 pounds a few times in his career. This was early on. In his first main bout of his career against John Ruiz he weighed 225, David Izon 223, Ike Ibeabuchi 226. Also you see how these fools will tell you, well Marciano beat Keene Simmons and he weighed around 200 pounds so that must mean Rocky Marciano could beat Lennox Lewis. Rocky Marciano fans are the most brain dead fans in boxing. Just ignore these fools. Don't waste your time trying to explain anything to them. If they aren't smart to realize first off boxing has evolve since he 1950's and second their are weight classes for a reason then why will never learn.
Apart from Walcott who was 39 and, imo elected to stay down, who did Rocky ko with an uppercut? Tua didn't miss and fall over, off balance did he,Rocky sometimes did.
Hardly thats what im saying those coming in saying " wilder ko 1" like come on dont exxagerate. Rocky will take him into the mid rounds and even rock wilder maybe. Before wilder finishes off rocky
Here is something else funny that Marciano fans do. They will tell you that Marciano beat some guys who weighed over 200 pounds. They aren't going to mention how these guys were bums and most of them started their careers under 200 pounds. Well Bob Foster beat around 7 or 8 guys who weighed 200 pounds when he faced them. But what happened when Bob Foster fought even smaller heavyweights like 205 pound Joe Frazier. His so called legendary punching power was useless and he got knocked out. But we all know that Marciano is special. Sure there hasn't been a 5'10 180 pound heavyweight since the 50's. But Marciano could do it. He could beat everybody because he is Marciano. Well he couldn't beat 160 to 170 pound club fighter Ted Lowry who beat the tar out of him and could of knocked him out when he chose. But let us no talk about that.
When looked at on film there really isn’t any comparison. Marciano was the much better of the two in movement offensively and defensively. Marciano by decision in a fight probably much like Bonavena Frazier
I would not put my money on anybody koing Marciano in one round, not Liston Foreman,Lewis Wlad,Tyson ,or Wilder. But I'd pick them all to beat him, and by stoppage.
Marciano is unique,he is the only fighter who transcends physics. No matter what argument anybody may make to the contrary his idolators will solemnly assure us sceptics."He would find a way".
