Dangerous fight for McGregor at Welterweight. I dont think he's as effective there as 155. Cowboys chances go up big time now.

He probably knows he has little chance of beating Khabib in a rematch and is hoping TFerg wins the title, otherwise he might like his chances more at making history at Welterweight as the first 3 division champion.
Even if in the unlikely chance he comes back to near his best,I don't think he matches up well with any of the top guys in that division

Cowboy is definitely dangerous and has a better chance at welterweight but I think he's seen better days and I think Mcgregor can crack that chin and win inside 2-3 rounds

It has been really interesting seeing how radically the tide of popular opinion has turned against Conor. I think sucker punching the old man was the final straw, but the bus incident, vile cultural trash-talk against Khabib, diva antics, Bellator cage-vaulting, and **** allegations all slowly added up.

It seems like there isn't much enthusiasm for this fight at all. If Conor has rediscovered the fire that drove him to the top at 145 & 155, and this is the first step in an audacious revenge tour, then I guess I'm interested. But if this is a cash grab where he tries to beat a guy on a losing skid before jumping the line to fight for the title, then I wish he wouldn't waste our time.

Should have had it at 155 and it should have happened years ago.

Good on Cerrone for finally getting that big pay day.

MMA fans usually love those who win fights even if they are arrogant. Once they lose, fans turn their back on them. Conor was loved by a lot after he beat Alvarez. He was cocky but backed it up.

Also the fight news is getting pretty viral on social media and mma forums. I think it will still be huge

This just confirms that Conor is done as an elite fighter. I think he's hoping to beat Cerrone at 170 then cash out in a blockbuster $$$$$$$ against Masvidal for the circus belt.

I personally slightly favour a badly declining Cerrone to win this at 170lbs. Who knows what condition/skills Conor will have these days. He's basically been not fighting and living a degenerate livestyle for 2 to 3 yrs now. We all know he has no gas tank so if Cerrone is standing after rd 1 then he wins imo in a 5 rd fight. He has always had a good engine and is a much much bigger man than McGregor at 170. I do expect Cerrone to probably fight dumb and trade with Conor in rd 1 so who knows. My money is on Cerrone.

Like most other mma fans this fight is very underwhelming. It's very weak from McGregor. He's clearly not confident these days. Deperately calling out Frankie Edgar and Cerrone. PATHETIC.

He needs to win inside the first round. After rd 1 his punching power and gas has nearly hit empty. It needs to be rd 1 or he's toast.

Cowboy is the only name fighter in either division Mctapper has a chance to beat. His speed and accuracy won't be hard to find Donald's chin, and it's not a solid chin either. The other top 5 guys in either division body bag him.

UFC will be banking on a Mctapper win so all the casuals will come back thinking he is the greatest in the world again so they can cash out again on his next fight. This also being at 170 shows it's a cash day as who ever wins isn't getting a title shot. or they hoping Mctapper wins and feed him to Jorge for his retirement fight on a huge PPV

Dana will be shitting bullets hoping Connor wins, if he loses what do they do with him? If Cerrone wins what happens with him? He will get belted by Masvidal if they put Cerrone in with him again.

Bet this fight does better numbers then any other (UFC) fight this year.

McGregor will KO him in the second.

It’s a weird one for me. Cerrone is the obvious choice but the 170 is baffling.

I like most others love the McGregor that rose through the ranks and genuinely loved a fight, not the person in front of our eyes today.

If he beats Cerrone (not a given) and fights Masvidal (can’t see it) or Khabib Ferg winner (this should happen - I think he’s done enough in his career to warrant that fight) then I’d be happy
