I don't know anything about boxing, but I know as far as boxing skills and nous go, Rocky Marciano could not carry Bryd or Toney's jock strap.
I also know that Hide, a moderate heavyweight, would be capable of hitting Marciano three times to his one, because he had the advantage of much greater speed ,,reach, size, he wasn't nearly 40 years old ,and he could hit too!

No ,I know nothing about boxing, but I know a rabid, blinkered, closed minded Rockista when I see one! And,this one I'm replying to , lost the battle some time ago,and is now resorting to personal insults .

Short armed ,"Ruiz has a reach of 74inches, 6 inches more than Marciano.
Giants can get ko'd . Any of those ever kod by
    a 5'10" man weighing 185lbs?
When was the last time a modern heavyweight of class was ko'd by a guy of those dimensions?
David Price has never been a world class heavyweight, why don't you include Julius Long FFS!lol
Tyson never weighed less than 212lbs in a pro ring and was typically 215 /220lbs , and he was 3 times as fast as Marciano!

If you are bringing amateur fights from a decade and a half ago into the equation, you are either:

    A) simps
    B) intellectually dishonest

That's about the sum of it, folks.

It’s apparent your knowledge is limited or you’re so obtuse and stubborn as to admit when you’re wrong. 190 pound men fight in cruiser now genius that’s why they haven’t been knocking out giants lately. The idiocy or intellectual dishonesty here is astounding. Marciano knocked out every man above 6 ft and 200 pounds he met but I suppose thag was a rockista myth

OK Now Marciano's 5"10 ha ha - Ruiz also not 6'1 and 74 inch arms - I agree its hard with all the supplements these days to weigh as little as Wilder which leads me to believe he may be playing fair but no matter how big these guys are you cant make the chin stronger- Tyson fought in the under 200 lb weight class in the amateurs when he lost to Henry Tillman but It has been widely reported that he suffered from the effects of the supplements he used.

Bottom line is quality will always be rated above quantity

these match-ups are all speculation because it is impossible to take someone born 75-100 years ago and imagine how they would come out being born in the last 20 years or NOW

great fighters are still great fighters and that my friend is written in stone

There will be great fighters coming out of this present era I would hope but that remains to be seen.

I despise Wilder. Like litterally hate him.

But from the replies on here I'm coming round to him winning

And of course cruisers get paid equal to heavies, so no incentive for all those 190 pounders to jump divisions and earn more.

Please tell me more about this intellectual honesty of which you speak.

Ruiz is pegged at 6'2 " and 74" if you think those stats are inaccurate why should Rocky's, whose been dead years, be anymore precise?
    Please explain?
Anyone here argued with the underlined?
Personally I think Marciano is a clear level above Wilder as regards greatness,in fact I don't think Wilder is a great
fighter ,or even likely to become one.
I just think he sparks Rocky Marciano with a couple of flush right hands.and I think he has the capability to do that to just about everyone who ever stepped into a ring.

lmao how many fighters have moved up with success over the years to fight heavy? A lot and many have had success. Throuout boxing history men have moved up in weight to fight heavy. Usyk being the number one guy right now. You just can’t over a 5”10 white guy doing it which is your own problem. How come the giants of yesteryear couldn’t compete? Do you think they just didn’t exist? Or maybe the more skilled little guys were to good for them?

    Yes it is actually.
Let look at those 9 men .
Humphrey Jackson The Pillsbury Dough Boy 4-2-0. He had a total of 7 fights won 2 and retired after the Marciano fight.
    His ko%26.57%
    Bill Hardeman1-4-0.
He'd lost his last 3would have 1 more be ko'd and retire
    ko% 0%.
James Connolly 8-5-0 .This was described as disgraceful matchmaking.
    ko% 33%.

Artie Donato7-10-0 .Had won 1 of his last 6,he would have 2 more ,be ko'd in both and retire.
    ko%10%

Eldridge Eatman 22-20-5.Had won1 of last 8 .Retired after this fight.
    ko%22.9%

Johnny Schkor 30-18-2 Decent trial horse, hed been kod inside 1 round by Walcott in his last fight. He'd won 2 of his last 9 He would have 1 more fight then retire.ko% 42%.

Keene Simmons 8-8-1Won 2 of last 9 he would have 11 more and win 1 of them.
    ko% 12.5%

Bill Wilson Ko'd 10 times stopped on a cut eye inside 2 minutes. No Ko!
    ko%51.75%
Don Cokkell A lhvy who contracted glandular fever and whose weight rocketed 30lbs over weight for the Marciano fight.
Had been ko'd by middleweight Randy Turpin
Kod just 3 heavyweights in his 81 fights[he only fought a handful,; one of whom was 40 years old.
    ko%41.91%

    Other Marciano stats
Of 49 fights , 18 were against men 185lbs or under.

177lbs Lowry went the distance twice with Rocky, could he do that with Wilder.

Intellectual dishonesty? You should be ashamed to mention the term!

How many did it with a 68 inch reach?

I'm having flashbacks to this guy named Qawi fighting at heavyweight.

I could flip that logic around, and ask "which of Wilder's fights gives us any indication that he can beat a man ranked in the top three?"
