It was also the biggest fight of his career.

That is less than Joe Louis weighed when Marciano fight him!

this is a manageable weight disparity.

    He lost.

You can't realistically give him more than four rounds, and that would be generous!

Yeah I forgot about Joe Louis, the 37 years old Bemused, Bumbling,Brown Bomber whose last great performance was against Mauriello 5 years earlier. Louis when prime weighed just over 200lbs ,that's the Brown Bomber, not that 213+ lbs, one armed guy Marciano beat.
The very fact that you bring up Louis is the tip off you are pointing a gun with no bullets in it! Nothing personal J but c'mon, let's have a bit of sanity here. I don't even like Wilder.

Weight and strength are probably bigger worries for Marciano!

Do you realize that old bemused bumbling Louis arguably has better wins in his comeback, than Wilder has in his entire career?

Let that sink in for a second, and then realize who you are putting on a pedestal!

All this is besides the point however.

My point is that Marciano is going to be able to handle a 212lb man leaning on him and pushing him.

that is not going to be an insurmountable problem!

You probably think that Wilder leans and bullies because you don't actually watch boxing anymore.

Most likely scenario is that Marciano has trouble landing 2 wilders head but ends up nailing him in the goozlepipe. The same way he did to Ezzard Charles. Don't know if wilder could make it to the finish line. Too much pain.

It pains me to say it but it’s nearly impossible for someone of Rocky’s size and style to beat a fighter like Wilder.

He is giving away so much height and reach that as well as at least 30 pounds against Wilder.

Wilder can’t box to save his life but he is gifted with rare power and speed of hand and while I don’t think he has much of a chin he does have a big fighting heart which in many ways is as important as chin.

The betting man in me always makes me check out how a fighter went against similar fighters but Rocky didn’t fight anyone like Wilder so it’s impossible.

If Marciano was say Tyson’s size or even Frazier’s size I would back him against Deontay but the size discrepancy is ridiculous and if Rocky could be hurt by Walcott and Moore then he would be in deep doo doo if Wilder landed his best stuff.

As others have said it is now 70 years since someone of Rocky’s dimensions held any legit version of the heavyweight crown yet his devout followers have no probs with him ravaging his way through modern sized heavy’s.

    Cheers All.

No I don't, but that is the only stylistic thing that his weight advantage could achieve!

Wolder is not a great fighter, or even close to it!

Hi Janitor you have no arguments here as far as that goes, mate.

It’s irrelevant though. Roberto Duran is much, much, much greater than say Johnny Ruiz but he wouldn’t beat him in the ring.

Ken Norton wasn’t in the same ball park as greatness compared to Ali but he always gave Muhammad hell.

There are divisions for a reason.
