Indeed he did fight Ottke & a very young Kessler I stated that in my first post in this thread and to elaborate on that imo after those two fights he realised he wasn't going to be able to hack it at real world class level so he began his quest to relieve the gullible Souther hemisphere of their hard earned cash by saying outrageous **** and selling heaps of PPV's , as business men he and Khoder were outstanding , as a world class 168lbs operator he stunk the joint out post Kessler .

Yeah I agree after that point (Ottke/Kessler) he knew he couldn't hang at the elite level but what percentage of boxers can ?

Mundine was a decent world level fighter (in his prime) who once won a trinket belt and fooled a lot of dumb casual bogan fans out of their $$$$$$$ for a good 15 yrs. The guy must have made an insane amount of money compared to his actual talent level as a boxer.

Can you think of any other sportman that turned to boxing as an adult from another sport and accomplished what Mundine did as a boxer ?

No mate i can't, that's why I gave props to Choc for fighting Ottke after less than a double figure career , personally I think he under estimated Kessler though, Mundine to his credit apparently shared the PPV love around to a few of his mates as wellso fair goes( no pensions for boxers )., when you have a lemon you squeeze it until the last drop , we could have done without all the race baiting crapolla though all said and done .

As a rugby league player Mundine was the highest paid player in the game. I have been told he could have represented Australia in basketball had he chosen that sport.
In 57 fights he was stopped 4 times. Fenech in 33 fights was stopped 3 times. Tszyu in 33 fights was stopped 2 times. Rose in 53 fights was stopped 5 times. Hec Thompson in 87 fights was stopped 7 times. After his comments about 9/11 he was told by WBC they would never sanction any fight in the US so don't waste your time coming over here. The IBF made similar comments. His only fight in the US only 10 people and a dog turned up to watch him. All of his fights have been PPV something never heard of before or since, with estimated earnings of 30 million dollars. His comment about 9/11 " America have brought this upon themselves" if any one doubts those comments check how many countries the US have invaded to change regimes. It was only a matter of time before someone struck back. That was his point.
During his 19 years as a pro he has spread the wealth amongst mostly Aussie opponents, Quote by Garth Wood " i want to thank Choc for turning me into a millionaire." Soloman 3 times, Geale twice. Woods twice, Green twice. As for the Glass Chin no one goes 12 with Kessler, 12 with Echolls, 22 rounds with Green, 12 with Siaca if they have a glass chin.

A prime Mundine was a class above all the other domestic fighters in his day and even Mundine of 5 years ago would certainly beat the current crop of Aussie fighters between 154 and 168 including Zerafa, Mitchell, Akkaway and Tszyu Jnr

I don't think the Choc who was on the wrong end of my 120-108 score card v Geale the second time out would have beaten Horn personally Prow ...do you reckon he would have ...?.

I agree with the 2009 version of choc beats Horn but I struggle to see the 2013 ish version having any joy with him . I should add though by then Choc had done slid imo I ain't taking anything away from Geale either he imo boxed one of the best fights of his life that night , I can't remember the exact official card but I clearly remember having Geale by a full house .

Yep and in 2009 Mundine was already 34 years old.

Yea he turned the clock back a bit when he fought the unbeaten Ranchanka though, that was the best I'd seen him fight in years .

The best at beating up Argie Taxi Drivers :)
Seriously a B level fighter who made A level money due to hand picking opponents in a starved Aussie boxing market

Whenever Mundine faced anyone truly world class (Ottke, Kessler etc), he failed

He was a good role model for aboriginal youth , i will give him that
