What’s nonsense about not booking until a date and venue are set? It’s pretty reasonable advice given the chances of the fight not happening in February.

As for general advice, I don’t know where you live but Air New Zealand have a Black Friday deal with returns to LA for less than £200 from Heathrow. Farcically cheap and very easy to get an internal flight to Vegas.

I’ve been to Vegas quite a few times. Location is a factor - the strip is much bigger than you think. I’d personally stay away from the top end near Stratosphere, Circus Circus etc as it’s a bit run down. Venetian/Wynn are very nice but if your plan is to spend time at the bottom of the strip you’ll be a fair distance. Monte Carlo is pretty good for the price and New York New York is fun. Avoid Excalibur - the place is a dive.

Also, do some research. I think people tend to go and expect Vegas to just sort of come to them. If you have an idea about what you want to do (shows, dining, clubs) you’ll be able to plan your trip rather than just do it on the hop once you’re there. Not that you need everything planned with military precision, but if you want to see, say, Penn and Teller, you can shop around and get cheap tickets beforehand rather than just rocking up on the night. There are deals for absolutely everything.

A.) I don't think many people are stupid enough to book a boxing trip before the official announcement

B.) "The fight is happening February 22nd, you can sleep on that." - Bob Arum a few days ago.

C.) You're hoping and praying the rematch doesn't happen for your anti Fury agenda

D.) Who are you? You've been to Vegas "quite a few times". Boxing is obviously a big part of your life. You're never online when actual boxing cards are on the telly and you've an unconditional love for all things matchroom. Even PPV's! One can only suspect you work for matchroom in some capacity

If you book an MGM resort you should be able to get a ticket included with the hotel rate.

I was looking too, you can find a place on booking.com and get free cancellation until Feb 2020 so that's the first bit sorted. Return direct flights from UK are c.£750. With one stop you can half that.

They’re secretly Hearn and Warren and both want a bit of a lemon party.

Don't listen to the haters. I booked to go to LA for the first fight and everybody said the fight wouldn't happen. It turned out to be one of the best nights in my

As for accommodation, don't stay in the fancy hotels. Look on Airbnb, really good value there, particularly if you're sharing.

Dreadful advice. An AirBnb in Vegas? The hotels are one of the things which are really cheap.

I suppose it depends what you want to do, if I'm on holiday in Vegas then I will always stay in a hotel. I was over there last year with 8 boxers to train in the gyms and we used an Airbnb, it was defo an experience. We stayed about 1/2 mile off the strip and it was pretty rough tbh and I couldn't see myself going back there if it was a holiday, as a base for training it was perfect.

I’d be reserving accommodation now for the dates it’s meant to happen. Book the flights when official announcement is made.

If for whatever reason fight doesn’t take place just enjoy Vegas mate!

Some good advice above. It's a good while since I've been but Excalibur was a dump even then and Treasure Island not great.

You can save a few bucks and still be staying pretty close to the Strip, plenty of cheaper hotels clustered around it, but unless you're really counting the pennies I wouldn't bother as hotels in Vegas are great value (as TH points out above) as for that matter is eating etc. As long as you're not dropping money in the slots or tables you'll find Vegas surprisingly good value - the gamblers subsidise it for everyone else :D

Most fun I had was staying at Luxor as its such a mad building. Although I liked it better when they had the river nile tours going on underneath you as you stood in the lobby wondering if you'd accidentally taken a truckload of LSD.

If you wind up travelling there and the fight doesn't happen, get yourself on a trip to Joshua Tree and Grand Canyon. See one of the great wonders of the world and get yourself out of Vegas for a day or so in the process. Either way, enjoy!

In respect to D line 1 above, the reason is that he is very busy on Matchroom Day as he has to wash Eh Day's car, iron Eh Day's clothes, polish his shoes while he is wearing them, operate the Matchroom Twitter account and advise Anna Wooly on her outfits and glasses.

Can only talk about planet hollywood as it's the only hotel I've stayed in there but I thought the room was rubbish. It's got all the fancy stuff downstairs of course like every hotel on the strip but as a hotel, it wasn't great.
