And this is the thing. Golovkin is around 173 on fight night. That's 2lb less than Foster's fighting weight. People keep forgetting that today's MW are much larger than those of the 70's. That's why I had to laugh at the Tiger / GGG thread where everybody assumed OMG Tiger is so big and powerful. Golovkin is probably bigger than him.
I would bet on Foster. GGG doesn't really have a track record against lightheavies, let alone great ones. It would seem he has the greater burden of doubt here.
The can crusher was gun shy against average pop canelo......canelo was and never will be a big hitter......Foster is and will take GGG's head clean off.............but not to worry, GGG would never ever move up........ever.......proof ? Right there in front of our eyes. GGG is the most hysterical over rated fighter in a long time
Today's middleweights are much larger because they are lightheavies or cruisers in the ring. With same day weigh in, a guy that weighed 159 would gain, maybe, a couple of pounds. Because when you weigh in at noon and fight at 8, you eat a normal meal, you certainly don't overeat then try to fight right away. Day before weigh ins have made a joke of the sport. When the 2 guys fighting for the 122 pound title both enter the ring as welterweights, it has become a clown show.
This is a fair post. I think Golovkin might do better than people think, but I don't really have the trackrecord to point to.
Foster had one of the great jabs and would have almost 5" advantage in height and a whopping 9" of reach. His ATG jab combined with the size advantages would far overshadow GGG's jab. GGG would have to be looking to get inside past the jab on a consistent basis. Foster also of course is in any sane discussion for hardest P4P punchers in history so one is going to be taking big risks coming at him. Foster can pole axe guys in close quarter exchanges with a single punch. Foster will control the fight with his jab and win the vast majority of rounds while the fight is active. GGG will have success in smaller spurts when he gets inside and lets his hands go. He will have his moments for sure but they won't be prolonged and he will accumulate punishment as he tries to keep the fight competitive on the cards. At some point over 15 the odds are Foster finds a dramatic stoppage with the smaller man struggling.
What right now? Foster is certainly in the type of current condition that Golovkin likes his opponents...no pulse.
I had to tell a bottom feeder joke - the content should always be directed to the appropriate audience, in this case, you. If you honestly believe Golovkin would have any semblance of a chance against Foster, you should probably check yourself into drug rehab. He wouldn't take the fight anyway. He was scared to get in with Ward and Froch... what in the **** makes you think he'd fight Foster?
Except for that Golovkin called them both out and they declined to face him. Are you on drugs? Are you a Dino alt?
It would be like a sleeping pill commercial...with GGG getting plenty of "z's" courtesy of Foster's left hand.
I doubt that he came up with that post on his own. He probably asked his kid brother to write something on the subject and then plagiarized the crayon-written paragraph.
