I don`t think any heavyweight in history aged 34 or over was as hard to beat as Wilder is right, which heavyweights at 34+ were still good fighters by that stage and how would they compare to how impresive Wilder is right now?

I think that’s a pretty long list, Heavyweights typically age better than other fighters. Larry Holmes, the Klitschko brothers and Lennox Lewis are a few guys I can think of right now.

Plenty of them, even if we look at the last 25 years, were much better than current Wilder at 34 - Holyfield, Lewis, Wlad. Vitali was retired from 33 to 37, so I don't know if he counts

Holyfield stopped Tyson at 34, puts him above Wilder by a distance.

Ray Mercer was 35 when he beat Lennox Lewis, I'd favour him to beat the ever living **** out of Wilder.

    In what universe ?

    Because Mercer never beat Lewis.

And Mercer only beat Tommy Chin, thats it......and was out hustled by Grndpa holmes.

Wilder beats ANY version of Mercer everyday of the week.

Yeah I know, but when the scores were read out for that fight the look on Lewis’s face reminded me of OJ’s when he was found not guilty for double murder.

Mercer ran hot and cold though didnt he, one of those fighters that when "on", was very dangerous. He was on good form against lewis, that version on Ray would put an unbelievable hiding on Wilder.

But in reality he never put a hiding on anybody........Morrison ran out of gas quick and Mercer capitalized while eating every punch in the book for a few.......you aint eating Wilders flush shots no matter how good your chin is, you have to avoid them and counter.......

He’s at his peak and better than last year which is rare at 34, but he’s def not the best ever 34 y/o heavyweight.

As a Wilder fan... I find this such an odd question. It almost seems like MVC style trolling.

Either Klitschko could defeat him now with sufficient time and maybe Vitali would need a fight prior to it. Maybe even M.Tyson now under those circumstances ? All these guys would be his best wins in shape,

Holmes, Lewis , Holyfield ,Foreman come to mind,

Povetkin is also a live existing active HW who would be his best win ?

Maybe if he meets up with Joyce in the near future that would be directly answered by that is a close 50/50 fight despite what some want to think.
