Quite a contrarian stance - why would he go toe to toe when he's the better boxer?

Decent fight. Besputin by 1 or 2 for me.

Not sure he's the better fighter though, better mover but not great at countering and seems to not be too durable.

The last two rounds were annoying in particular because all he did was run and pitty pat ineffectively and I knew he was going to be given those despite losing them.

Yup. Good, competitive fight with a well scored decision.

Butaev wasn't letting his hands go enough for me. Yeah he was landing the harder shots but he was letting Besputin outwork him. It was close and I wouldn't have complained if it was a draw.

How could you give the last two rounds to Besputin? By clean, hard and effective punches, he lost those.

Whenever they traded, Butaev came out on top - he was clearly the more physically imposing guy. Besputin had to use lateral movement and the jab to facilitate his combos, which managed to secure him a lot of the rounds. I had it by 1 for Besputin but would have fine with a draw or Besputin by 2. If Besputin did anything other than 'run', he'd have lost the fight, it was sensible to keep the distance.

I had it a draw. Besputin is not going to last at the top level for sure.

Still, very little solid punches getting through for Besputin. It's not the amateurs, pitty pat shouldn't be considered a big factor in winning a round and in terms of clean and hard punching Butaev had him beaten in a lot of rounds. Draw for sure. I knew Besputin was going to be given those last two rounds despite outright running and pitty patting them exclusively, think he landed two solid shots in those two rounds combined.
