I don't think any 34 year old heavyweight champion in history has fought a 50 year old HW either.. I'd suggest that (especially considering the Cuban is yet to win a major title or a get decent scalp on his resume) Ortiz is a pretty poor measuring stick to gauge Wilders parity with former champions.. I don't dispute his power.. but at some point power gets negated.. & skill has to out.. that's when he'd falter.. that's why 95% of his resume is **** poor.,

Wilder is doing pretty well for the age, I guess. But you clearly don't need much speed against many of these slugs.
I'd say both Klitschkos were better at this age. Povetkin was better.

Was Ortiz better? I don't know, I get the feeling that idiot would probably still just linger in front of Wilder's RH after six rounds no matter the age. I think the Hammer fight showed how easy Ortiz is to hit, really, even though Hammer is underrated, he won the junior championships.

Wilder just lost 7 out of 7 rounds vs. a 40 year old guy who never beat anyone with a pulse. You will have a hard time finding another HW belt holder who lost this many rounds this consistently.

No Wilder would have destroyed Mike easily during the 90`s.

He began working Ortiz out by the fourth and Ortiz would have beaten any heavyweight aged 34 in history.

Wow you're one of the worst posters on the forum. You've really taken the helm from dinovelvet haven't you.

Some food for thought for you: how many top 10 HWs has Ortiz beaten?

Here's a list of fighters who would easily walk through last Saturday's Ortiz:
Wlad Klitschko who beat Haye (36 years old)
Lewis who beat Tyson (37 years old)
Vitali Klitschko who beat Peter (37 years old)
Holyfield who beat Tyson (34 years old)

Wladimir Klitschko with Manny Steward, and even till 37 years old, he was a f***** monster.
2014-2015 his explosivness, speed, footwork, cardio and most importantly his workrate goes down probably by half.
But Klitschko against Haye was arround 35-36 years old, and his speed and movement was on another level to anyone. People barely touches him in that time.
But at the end father time catch. I don`t expect Wilder to be in great shape till 37, like Wlad was.
Its such a pitty that this guy best year goes past without facing a real competition, except for Fury and maybe Ortiz. And Fury beats him.
Ortiz never ever beat anyone on notice, and he never really face any dangerous boxer, who has good boxing skill and power.
Not to mention Ortiz cardio last max for 7-8 rounds. And the funny part is he was beating Wilder till his cardio start getting the best of him.
Can someone tell me 1 reason with what Ortiz deserverd the rematch against Wilder. And how exactly Wilder did better in the second time around? It was the same match/result, but with a little bit earlier KO. That fight has zero, absolutely zero sense.
How can Ortiz get 2 title chances in 1 year time, yet Whyte is still f**** ?
And i do think that Wilder probably stop Whyte, because Whyte defence is pure crab.

Wilder resume could be a lot different if he was dare to fight Povetkin when he was in a great shape, and fight guys like Whyte, Parker, Pulev, Takam(when he was prime), and probably ATG if he was dare to face and beat Klitschko and Joshua.

Based on what exactly? On a UD win over Christian Hammer? I think I can find about 300 or 400 heavyweights in history that would beat Hammer way easier than Ortiz did.

The ruddock Tyson would have administered a frightful beating on Wilder. Even washed up 96 Tyson had a more than decent chance, Tyson was a quick starter and wouldn’t give him 8 rounds to land the one and only punch Wilder has.

Tyson would kill Widler, so lets stop with the jokes ....
Wilder can`t box and his defence and footwork is terrible. His chin is fragile as well.

I never realised ppl thought wilder was good. Still to prove himself against a prime top 10 fighter in any fit state to fight.

Lewis and both Klitschko's were better at age 34, and they fought MUCH better competition. I would say Holmes was better at age 34 as well. Possibly Foreman.
