Widely reported today about AJ taking a bit of punishment in sparring. Now I've see 'an injury' reported.

Are we looking at a pull out? Is it all a promotional ploy? If it is real, how is it being leaked? Also, how bad is it for AJ's confidence to be getting shook at this stage of camp?

For some reason I suspect mind games and a promotional ploy from team AJ. I'll be devastated if it's off.

    Thoughts?

I doubt it, he's getting far too much money to be pulling out.

There were rumours that Ruiz was going to pull out around 2 weeks ago. It wouldnt surprise me to be honest. If either guys pulled out.

The last major HW rematch resulted in a pull out under suspucious circumstances after all.

Oh ffs, I'm not having any pull outs on the ****ing fight week. Injured or not he's going to lose anyway, just man up and accept the beating.

I thought they laid off sparring a couple weeks before fight night?

Please God it's nothing. Been looking forward to this for so long. I like the early start too, crack a can at 5pm and watch the whole lot with pals.

Can't see him pulling out at this stage tbh.

There are always rumours around AJ's sparring. Take them with a huge pinch of salt. I wouldn't be surprised if Eddie Hearn himself is the source, to garner interest and sell more PPVs.

I often have to stop myself from thinking about the fight, it makes the wait seem even longer and i'm just too excited for it...

If this fight is called off, I genuinely might cry.

This AJ hasn’t been sparring for over 2 weeks now. Fight week hype I reckon. His camp would have been controlled and methodical in my opinion to build his confidence. There’s a reason he was sparring the likes of Moten, Little and Pervizaj. All relative novices with lower boxing ability.

We know AJ can box at world level this camp wouldn’t have been about that it would be about drills, tactics and replicating that with sparring partners that can enable him to build confidemxe without a tune up fight. There also would have been limited sparring due to the quick turnaround from the concussion of the first fight.

The build-up to big heavyweight title fights is always rife with rumour and speculation.

Afterwards, we tend to forget a lot of what is talked about before the fight, as 99% of it is either irrelevant or bull****.
