I agree with Morlocks here, I thought Fletcher won the 4&5th quite clearly, he landed harder punches, more off them and boxed better in more directions(off the ropes, on the front/back foot). Competitive rounds but a clear winner of those two rounds imo. The only case I can see for Green is his less powerful, less accurate shots getting credit for quantity.
I think he landed the best punch of the 5th though.

Some great stuff here, even the stuff I disagreed with (Pryor Arguello) I thought was excellent due to the explanation, thanks man!
Hope you carry on doing them with us

Fletcher was definitely the busier but I thought Green landed the bigger punches. I'll happily watch it again and reappraise but need to focus on Gomez-Pintor next - one of my all-time favourite fights but I've never scored it.

Tbh Philly I don't know, we'll see what the poll says.
Should we have multiple fights, a week from next Monday, as a rebrand. FOTF, fight of the fortnight.
If not, we'll have one up on the Monday the poll ends (a week from today).

Should we have a group chat, then check back on Mondays

    Lupe Pintor vs Wilfredo Gomez

Rd - Gomez : Pintor (Total)
    1. 10 : 9 (10-9)
    2. 9 : 10 (19-19)
    3. 9 : 10 (28-29)
    4. 10 : 9 (38-38)
    5. 10 : 9 (48-47)
    6. 10 : 9 (58-56)
    7. 9 : 10 (68-65)
    8. 10 : 9 (78-74)
    9. 10 : 9 (88-83)
    10. 9 : 10 (97-93)
    11. 10 : 9 (107-102
    12. 9 : 10 (116-112)
    13. 9 : 10 (125-122)

Gomez wins by 14th round TKO

Still is one of the most overrated fights of all time imo. It's good, make no mistake. But I just can't see it as an ATG fight.
Oh well, bitching aside, this was still a very good fight, Gomez was well... Gomez. And Pintor was great against the ropes and was a nice counter puncher, he was good on the lead but left himself open to Gomez's counters and it cost him.

up to you? If it stays like the original format I will continue. If it goes to multiple fights I may just pick the ones that intrigue me...pm open to it since only about 5-8 of us actually score fights anyway lol

Tbh I imagined that the most people would do the multiple fight threads like that. So, of course, feel free to see/post in the threads how you like.
I personally like the idea of the PM, and the idea of the multiple fights, I'm also happy with how it is now. So I don't mind the result of the poll.

To be honest I like both the multiple fight theme and the group chat ideas almost equally, could only pick one though.

Ray Mancini VS Duk Koo Kim
    The Legendary Tragedy

    Mancini Kim
    R1: 9 - 10
    (Even till last 20 seconds)
    R2: 10 - 9
    (Mancini very effective inside. War)
    R3: 10 - 9
(War. Mancini right body uppercut making the difference)
    R4: 9 - 10
    (Very close. Slower round)
    R5: 10 - 9
(Mancini a bit crisper. Ridiculous pace)
    R6: 10 - 10
    (Legendary. Some brilliant inside fighting)
    R7: 10 - 9
    (Mancini more compact)
    R8: 9 - 10
(Kim finesse and late flurry wins the round)
    R9: 9 - 10
(Kim forcing the issue and bossing the round)
R10: 10 - 8 (Kim had a point deducted as mentioned by Clancy)
    (More legendary exchanges)
    R11: 10 - 9
(Kim fighting purely on fire now)
    R12: 10 - 9
(Kim weak but never gives up)
    R13: 9 - 10
    (Kim's last stand)
    R14: KO, and later tragedy

    Score: 125 MANCINI - 122 KIM

    Notes:
    • Passion. Pure passion.
    • Kim burnt his fire fighting and turned to white ash. Ray was never the same.
    • Easily one of boxing's greatest wars. Far superior to Gatti - Ward.
    • Insane fitness and passion. Show me a fitter athlete than these two.
    • I've watched this a lot of times, but never scored it until today.
    • "Either he dies or I die." - Duk Koo Kim

    Wilfredo Gomez v Lupe Pintor

    1 10-9
    2 10-9 (close)
    3 9-10
    4 9-10 (close)
    5 9-10
    6 8-10 (elbow - point deduction Gomez)
    7 10-10
    8 10-9 (close)
9 10-8 (low blow - point deduction Pintor)
    10 10-10
    11 10-9
    12 10-9
    13 9-10
    (124-123)
    14 TKO

One of the great fights imo, I've seen it many times before but never scored it.

Every time I watch it I find myself more impressed with Pintor's performance than Gomez's but Wilfredo just managed to outlast Lupe despite the quality of the Mexican's rear guard action.

I love this fight because it's a high quality technical battle but with plenty of guts and exchanges. The action is great thoughout and the shifts in momentum make for terrific drama.

Round 12 is an interesting case in point - Gomez dominates for over 2 minutes of the round after Pintor staggers into the ropes early on and Gomez just unloads on him. But with 20 seconds to go, Pintor turns it round and nearly stops him. The bell saved Gomez but I still gave him the round - looks like I'm in the minority on that one but I stand by my score.

I made rounds 7 and 10 even - I couldn't choose much difference between the two fighters. I agree with one of the earlier comments about Pintor being penalised for a low blow - Gomez definitely landed the lower blows in the 9th so he was fortunate to get the benefit in that round and Pintor was unlucky to lose a point. Thankfully it didn't make a difference to the outcome.

The year I was born! :ibutt

I'm positive I've scored all of these in the past, save Navarette vs. Choi II. Let me see if maybe I ever posted my scorecards on here and dig them up.
