So, all the heavyweights who've been knocked down more than Wilder have a better chin than Wilder, who hasn't been dropped in 10 years and has held the title longer than all of them combined, because .... um ... because uh .... because WHY again? Just because?
Ive not once said Joshua or Fury or any heavyweight has a better chin than Wilder? I’m saying Wilder’s chin hasn’t been fully tested because of his level of opposition and it’s a joke to say his chin is iron. If Joshua had fought a bum on June 1st a lot of people would still have a stupidly high opinion of him which was proven to be wrong. People are doing the same with Wilder.
Right. I'm sure the 24 hours notice, the flight to Russia and the fact that his opponent was JUICED to the gills and had just failed his drug test had nothing to do with the KO. If Wilder ever fails a drug test, fights a guy on one day's notice and blows him out ... I'm going to go out on a limb and say nobody on here is going to think that was an awesome win.
Are we supposed to conveniently forget that Duhaupas was literally brought in the day of the fight. Povetkin just isn't a guy you do that with.
Don't gass out halfway through a fight and spit out your mouthpiece and quit against a late sub. And stay off the floor for the next 10 years. I agree.
Wilder don't get up from that Klitschko punch that put Joshua down, so Chin is a no go! Wilder is yet to face someone who can really hit hard!! How to use the left arm to keep Ruiz at bay perhaps and deffo how to use the forearm smash or rabbit punches to back of head and get away with it.... These things he could learn from watching Wilder, in any other aspect Joshua is totally superior!!
I haven't forgot that, he was still chinned badly. No ones managed that, showing Povetkin is indeed someone you can't take lightly as a puncher.
I don't think it was an awesome win, I'm saying Duhaupas' chin was smashed by Povetkin and no one else. Meaning Povetkin is a credible puncher, yes it was likely helped by PEDs but still. The point is he smashed someone's chin who's shown incredibly durability.
Parker still took some good shots against AJ like they were nothing, same with Takam, Ruiz and Whyte. Dude has a legit chin, settle down. Kownacki has actually faced punchers and eaten their shots, unlike Ortiz for example who hadn't been knocked down but hadn't faced a puncher until Wilder. Stiverne took some good shots but he's been stopped a few times now. He was stopped before he faced Wilder too.
Learning how to throw a jab and a proper right cross also encompasses understanding the typical positioning and footwork as a package deal. Case n point you can teach the aforementioned within a couple of months but can you teach them to execute this and be effective while another man is simultaneously attempting to severe you’re head off? Can a man be taught the intangibles that Wilder brings to the table? He has a certain allure to his fighting craft despite it not being your personal cup of tea. So Wilder isn’t the poster boy for fundamentals, this isn’t a profound discovery. I’m just curious as to what makes you sooooo perturbed when mentioning Wilder and his limited skills versus his position in boxing today.
