Hearn isn't short of a heavyweight. Some will need fed and Hearn doesn't mind using Price as food.

That’s about as good a description of Eddie’s business practices or morals that can be given. To be fair, the same can be said of all boxing promoters. Just some are more ruthless and evil. You’re as useful as your last fight. Boxers can go from feeding to food in an evening, and if one boxer isn’t willing to be led to the slaughter, another one who will for a price, is just a phone call away. Once the old lion is done being profitable, there fed to the new/young lion. And so it goes round.

You’ve got to give him credit. Nearly 8 years since his loss to Vitali and he’s still up there amongst the top 15. You can say it’s not the strongest generation but he’s defied the odds, been robbed a few times and just keeps coming back. He hasn’t let a loss (or 9) hold him back, he’s a credit to the sport and someone for the young lot to look up to.

However, I believe Usyk does to him what Fury done and he retires on his stool after 7/8.

This fight could also be for the WBO title. I've got a feeling Hearn will pull his magic strings though - it'll be a win-win for him.

If AJ wins all the belts back, he will defend against Pulev and I bet that Usyk takes step aside money to not pursue the WBO mandatory until called. However if Ruiz wins, you can be certain the mandatory will be called and the title vacated if Ruiz still chooses Pulev.

This is exactly what will happen and it’s a smart move to be honest. The last thing the heavyweight division needs is them yanks holding ALL the belts hostage like they have done with the WBC. Would rather then be scattered around.

Del Boy will be lively for 2 or 3 rounds until Usyk figures him out and gets him under control with his jab and movement. I can see Chis getting busted up as it goes into the late rounds and he either gets stopped or done on points.

    WAR Chisora

Hope Eddie makes it Manchester rather than the O2 and I'll consider going.

As Scissors has said, Del has dug deep and kept going and must be kicking himself at his lack of professionalism earlier on in his career. I expect a Usyk win but you never know.. " its Heavyweight boxing isn't it Koogs "

No lose matchup for both men

for BRUTHA USKY he gets to tee off on a shot old delboy with a war cap on for twelve rounds, buys himself some easy "name value" at HW for a very low risk proposition. Showcase those silky skills from behind the IRON CURTAIN. Win.

For shot old delboy its another big name in the L Column with little to no risk of getting stopped by a feather fisted cruiserweight, his stock can still rise in defeat and he is still in line for the chinny robots big new year homecoming post getting splattered by the tubby mexican next week. Win win.

Even keeps the armchair tv execs happy as will "do big numbers".

Like we haven’t seen AJ/Eddie holding them belts hostage. As soon as AJ’s boss, Eddie The Overlord, is out of the heavyweight picture the better. Watch Eddie turn on his radar, that pin points him to the nearest microphone. He then over and over states his message of the day, or informs whomever is within earshot his latest tall tale. Eddie/Matchroom operates much like TMZ, a gossip website. Simply cringe worthy. Makes me laugh watching him squeeze in on every photo op.
Over the last 130 years, boxing has seen the complete American dominance of the heavyweight championship landscape. The British in that period have had one great heavyweight champion, and one who may be overrated. The British are insecure, and Eddie/AJ, and so many others in British boxing just magnifies that insecurity. The British are like America’s pip squeak little brother, always pleading for attention/acknowledgement from big brother. They’re Americas lap dogs.
