Completely wrong here mate. Don´t go around making up your own definitions to popular phrases.
Taking a dive means someone pretending to be KO´d or knocked down.

Otherwise every journeyman is taking a dive on a near daily basis.

Remember round 1 vs Bernard? Who ever did that to him before?

    Remember the Ward fights?

Some guys on here cuss Ward out all day but in my eyes he is an ATG and would have been competitive in any era. Kovalev arguably beat him in their first fight

If you'll pardon the pun, Kovalev played Russian roulette with Canelo with only one bullet.

Canelo bought a fully loaded chamber.

why would he go into a fight for money when he is getting paid a lot of money for taking the fight?

    bunch of genuises here.

Ward an ATG? No he never did enough to prove that. In today's boxing if a guy knocks a few guys out he is the biggest puncher of all time. If he has a few defenses even against weak opposition he is the best ever, and they rush them into ATG status. Ward has not proven he is ATG. HOF perhaps, but not ATG. And Kovalev's career is good, but not great.

This thread is upsetting because it shows the negative energy of a guy like Kovalev. Sign the fight and train as hard as you can. Win or lose and then accept it and give the winner his credit.

The guy supposedly was drinking and smoking while training. Shades of Mayorga. Guys like that tend to have short careers.

He's taking a lot of sh#$ from his Russian countrymen over the Canelo fight. Rightly so.

I think he's shot physically. He can no longer perform at the top level.

There are a lot of miles on that car.

That was no dive. He got beat by a ginger midget fair and square (albeit a very talented ginger midget). Time to retire Kov..

He really should have tried to get the fight with canelo in may instead of november that was stupid decision making

It's a well known fact that he drinks, but I never heard that he smokes as well. That would explain why his stamina is worse then some couch potato.
A 36 year old should not be dead tired after a few rounds of throwing light jabs only.

Who else was Ward supposed to beat to cement his legacy? He cleaned out 168lbs and made them all look B-grade and he beat Kovalev twice, regardless of how you want to cut it.
