I'm with those who say that a third fight doesn't really entice me. I dont want to see Golovkin get beaten badly just because he's older. The first fight he was treated unfairly, but in the second fight he didn't go for the kill and Canelo went on the front foot.

It'll happen again. Shouldn't, but will.

GGG trash. Fukkn late bloomer, to the states.

So much talk and after 24 rds, nothing to show for it. Third time wont be the charm; nothing more than a going away party.

Imho the first time around Canelo fought an 85% GGG. The second fight was 75% GGG. By the time a third fight happens we`ll have a GGG thats maybe half of what he was in his prime. Now these numbers are just ball park figures and obviously shouldn't be taken as gospel its just to make a point about GGGs fading abilities inside the ring.

Canelo beat Golovkin two different ways competitively but clear imo, so for me I much look forward to see Canelo take on other challenges.

He was coming of a draw against a bum, was 40ish and was schooled by Floyd 10 rounds to 2.
Seems to be a bit of a double standard between Shane and Thurman.

    Thurman was a great win.
    Shane wasn't.
    Pac dragged Oscar down 1.

I'm interested if Golovkin decides to go all out from the opening bell and try to KO him. But if he wants to be calculated and wins the boxing match then loses on the cards again, it will be annoying. Basically at this point Golovkin needs to realise he'll never outshine Canelo enough to compensate for the extra points Canelo gets just by being upright and in the fight. I just watched stumpy win certain rounds against Kovalev without really doing anything, it was like a magic trick.

So Golovkin needs to view it like a seek and destroy mission behind enemy lines, one shot to get his revenge. Accept you've lost the fight on points from round one and just look for the KO sequence. He knows he can eat artillery, so just become wild animal Golovkin and attempt to rip Canelo's face off. Just go bombing, something will land eventually, especially since Canelo's ego will not be able to stand Golovkin bullying him for long, particularly these days, and I think he'll start exchanging, which means he'll be open.

Pac went up 2 weight classes to a division he's STILL the smallest guy in. Was he supposed to go up 3?

    :nusenuse:

Of course Shane was a good win. Shane held a significant size advantage over Pac and styles wise, Pac obliged Shane. No running, no clinching, no spoiling. Pac offered him all out war and never took a step back over 12 rounds. Even Shane said that Pac's aggressive style would play into his size and power.

And don't forget that an even OLDER Shane stood toe-to-toe w/ Canelo for 12 rounds, but feared for his life and ran and spoiled against Pac.

Its a shame that Canelo has not wanted a 3rd GGG fight. I think the 2 Golovkin fights were by far Canelo's and Golovkins most exciting and closest fights in recent years. Personally i felt that Canelo lost both of those fights but the 2nd one was very close. But for me the want of a 3rd fight is diminishing anyway. Canelo moving up a weight and then another feels like their paths have really gone in seperate directions and Golovkin looks like age has caught up with him now, hes still a beast at 160 but i feel that he is slowing where as Canelo is fighting better than ive ever seen him before.

Because when he thinks about fighting GGG again he says "OH HELL NO!" There has got to be easier work than this.

Yeah every time GGG fights Canelo he takes such a beating that his health goes down about 10% each time. The two Canelo bouts have surely taken years off of GGG's career. If he never fought Canelo GGG might still be a spring chicken and destined to fight into his 40s. But after fighting Canelo he's nearing retirement due to the beatings Canelo has given him.

This I think is more likely under Banks, because now it seems Golovkin likes to throw more bombs and body shots and less jabs than before.Hopefully a nasty war would get him a much deserved win over the current so called pfp king. That being said I still think his jab is what won him both fights, when it lands right it is like a powerful right hand and it lands right alot ,particularly in their 2nd fight.I think GGG did enough to win both competitive fights ,but that's my opinion, the 2nd being closer, both classic legendary fights.
