If Ruiz is still there after 4 rounds and has not been deterred from coming forward he should knock AJ out.

It is a very intriguing fight and the first round will be very interesting.

 

Body language actually means nothing. Fighters and people act out and do certain ''moves'' to affect the opposing fighters perspecitve and get them into a certain mental state.

Example: A fighter doesn't look at his opponent at all, looking to the ground instead as both fighters touch gloves. This affects the opposing fighters mindset to think the other fighter is ''scared'', not in control and passive/weak this will make and impact that fighter to be more aggresive as they think are dominating and in charge, where as in fact the original fighter has lulled the other fighter into being more aggresive as that suits thier gameplan.

I have a theory that stylistically Ruiz vs Joshua is very similar to Tyson vs Bruno.

Ruiz has the fast hands that may well always be a problem for Joshua. Joshua has a lot of Bruno's attributes. Joshua, like Bruno, has tremendous punching power and a great physique but like Bruno is prone to stamina issues and defensively is very vulnerable once hurt.

If Joshua is to win I see it only by a 12 round close but fairly uneventful contest where the decision is not an obvious won. Does Joshua have the jab and ring sense to stay out of trouble for the entire fight though?

 

Joshua has one of the best jabs in the game when he uses it.

Tbf to ruiz he done a very good job of taking it away from him. He done the exact same thing against dimitrenko in his fight before joshua. Hes slow of foot....but hes pretty good at backing up to avoid it and knowing when to close the gap etc. That and he punches his way in with combos and cuts the ring off well.

You need to be pretty quick of foot....to get your jab going against ruiz imo. Or have a very good judgement of distance which i m not sure joshua has. Otherwise he,ll punch with you....and keep punching...when he fancies it.

This is the definition of 50/50. So many questions. So many variables. I am buzzing for this fight.

Gun to my head and I'm picking Joshua based on the possibility that it was the first shot to the temple that caused the subsequent domination. But as aforementioned, that's a question mark.

 

If anyone thinks it's a 50/50 fight (and I have no reason to doubt them) and they like a bet, then logic dictates that they have to bet Ruiz at odds of just over 2/1.
