Did he fight him?, no. Because Cotto, at that stage in his career, was looking for serious paydays and he deserved/earned it. Golovkin wanted a free payday in calling out Cotto, simple as that. I'm very glad to see Cotto ignore him like he never existed.

What a stupid post from you. Dumber than your normal squabble... So 3G wanted a payday by challenging the MW champion in Cotto? Are you ever aware of your own stupidity? ANYONE in 3G's position would be looking to face the MW champ. Dumbass...

He wanted a “free payday” by trying to unify the titles?

So Cotto should be allowed to drain actual middleweights in defence of his middleweight title? That was okay with you?

The thread starter claimed GGG never challenged himself or at least alluded to and Cotto was mentioned, yet IF GGG had gotten the fight it was a “payday” in your eyes?

Talk about riddles and goal post shifting to suit agendas.

Probs because GGG isn't a natural cruiser weight who has a uncanny ability to dehydrate down to 154 if required...

Name one decision he got unfairly. One fight where he didnt deserve the win or a close loss or a draw. Name one. You guys need to learn what a gift is. Lara and first GGG were close as ****. Those could have gone either way.
The second GGG he pushed GGGs guts in all day.

Nothing is more dumber than an idiot who was proudly in the "Margarito is the most feared man on planet" parade back in 2006. Seriously old man, your own history on here is a bigger joke than your life. I am hardly surprised you are in the Golovkin hype train either. Like a fly, you are quickly attracted to garbage.

Golovkin was already a champion at the time, he wasn't a challenger by any means. He was dying for a free payday and was barking for it nonstop. He got ignored and rightfully so considering his biggest win at the time was ancient Ouma.

Yes, his main interest in this was a free payday. That's why even after the WBC stripped Alvarez and he won the paper version of the title, he was still barking and crying at Alvarez' doorsteps for a free payday. If his main interest was unification as you and that other idiot are claiming, he wouldn't have bothered to give Alvarez a shot.

 No moron... I never said Margarito was the most feared. He just scared the crap outta stuttering Joyboy  I don't expect you to even be aware of my posts. You floyd cockriders rarely read posts, you just assumed what the posters said 99% of the time...

You really have to be the biggest ******* on the planet to think 3G had no right to face Cotto @ MW.

    then ducked 154 canelo , lara , ward ;
fought bums ,gatekeepers , glass eyed brooke who moved up 2 weight classes.
bumlovikin's resume is embarrasing , best win is probably jacobs...

It's well known in boxing circles (fighters, promoters) that Golovkin was heavily ducked for years. Enough have mentioned that people didn't want to fight him (Barker, Macklin for example).

GGG sought out Sturm, Cotto, Martinez but couldn't get the fights. Even if you want to argue they rejected him because he 'wasn't a money fight', you can't blame him for not having the 'big names' if they won't fight him. Try to manage at least a lower peasant level IQ.

Cotto plain ducked him though, as he fought Geale, who was not a draw at all, after Geale was KO'd by Golovkin. Canelo ducked GGG for an extended period and is now doing it again after scraping a victory.

Sure he did, because let's face it, facing De La Hoya at 154 for the WBC title is definitely worse than fighting Antonio "Hands of Plaster" Margarito, who's biggest win at the time was Clottey. See why you were an idiot back then and remain an idiot today?.

Yes, beating ancient Ouma and other hopeless bums gives him zero right to gain Cotto's attention. Cotto was clearly at the end of his career and looking for one or two serious paydays. Golovkin wasn't providing jack in terms of money at that point and headlined zero PPVs on his own as well.
