I think GGG should target Callum Smith next

    I think that this would be a smart move for GGG. It doesn't seem like Canelo wants a third fight and Smith looked very beatable against Ryder most thought Ryder won. I think GGG at his age is starting to struggle more to make 160 and I believe that was one of the reasons he struggled in his last fight with SD.

    GGG and Smith are both with Hearn and Matchroom, Smith has been demanding Hearn to get him a big stadium fight next and I think this is the perfect fight for both men at this stage in their careers.

    Thoughts?

    Ryder is much more awkward and slick than GGG. I don't think this fight will be as easy as GGG as y'all think. GGG gets hit a lot and Smith would chin check him plenty.

    Even if that's the case what other big fights are on the table for GGG that are not against dangerous opponents? This fight would be a calculated risk and I personally would favour GGG

    Smith fight is only big in the UK. Would GGG go to the UK? This isn't Kell Brook aka a guaranteed win. This probably goes to the cards.

    Smith doesnt deserve the Canelo fight.

    It also would be about as competitive as the Rocky Fielding farce.

    No one would be fooled into thinking that Smith would be good enough to make it competitive, so the fight wouldnt sell.

    I cant believe after the Ryder fight that people would give smith a chance against GGG even at his advanced age. GGG is no come forward plodder he can box and move also and has great ameteur pedigree. Smith looked very uncomfortable against Ryder and I would bet my house that GGG would get him out before the end.

    It would take the play away from canelo and make the championship road lead to him

    I mean unless canelo just fought benavides instead

    I really hate to agree with this post, but I do. The reason I picked John Ryder for the upset was because he has the exact style needed to beat Callum Smith. Granted, I'd still pick Golovkin and Canelo to beat him, but it wouldn't be an easy match for either and they'd both take a lot more damage than John. Because.. styles yo. Not because Callum Smith is all that great.

    Smith is too easy for 3G, he needs a HoF to test him at least. 3G would laugh if you suggested this guy to him.
